And this mornings view along the coast overlooking the Indian Ocean at Scarb's was a beauty with the near full moon shinning across the near dead calm water.
He very much appreciated the assistance with the routing through the outskirts of Northam but was very confused by your change of bike, Gus!! :p
Says he rode straight past you and Steve and made you ride hard to catch up!!

Thoroughly enjoyed helping Gus lead Martin from Northam to Scarbs last night.

Having read previous reports and understanding how the increase in spirit a friendly set of headlights/taillights can bring, I was very happy to be Tail End Charlie in our little convoy, just making sure that any Bogan Perth'ites didn't get too close to our intrepid traveller.

There was one "oh shit" moment as we approached the roadworks for the new Northern Link. Gus had proceeded thru a 'makeshift/temporary' round-a-bout, and I was tucked onto Martin's tail, only to notice that Martin was about to take the wrong turn (which wasn't helped by no lane markings or directional arrows at all, and what could only be described as an elliptical 'not so round'-a-bout. I think he sighted my indicator in his mirror at the last moment, and a quick change of direction, and a snap of the wrist, and the Beemer corrected direction and took off after Gus' tail lights. Phew.

He was remarkably chirpy after nearly 50hrs in the saddle, but Ox's words were clear in my mind. He had his game face on.

And again, when we met back at the BP at 1.00am to escort him out. Still jovial, still chatting, but you could tell, plan half finished, time to do the hard yards.

An un-eventful run out from the coast and I left them at the bottom of Greenmount. A full on day in front of the computer at work, was taking it's toll on my eyes.

Let me just say tho: Those lights on the Beemer are unbelievable!!!!!!! They really do turn night into day.

Thanks for the details. Great to have locals on board in a situation like that- roadwork signage (with confusing half obliterated road markings) are a major hazard at night- compounded by having just got out of bed in the early morning.
Hopefully the wind is at his back as he's now heading east on the home straight.

Still hitting his ride plan targets. The OA for the 50CC/100CCC is 87 km/h. Keep up the good work Martin.

Just running some numbers from my plan. I have a total stop time (rest and fuel stops) of 18:20. This gives a moving average of 97 km/h.

On the Coogee Scarborough leg I has my 50CC track to compare with. Maybe come spring, I'll get the Scarborough Coogee leg done too,

When Steve suggested we ride out to Northam to meet Martin I agreed and it was a good thing we did as when we got to the western end of the Northam bypass the road was blocked due to a fatal car accident. we looped around through Northam and planned to intercept him on the other side. Spot was running way behind and he was on us before we were ready and he didn't recognise the FJR as I am usually on the ZX14R, we caught up to him at the roadblock and did a quick u-turn back through town with minimal delay. Main roads website was still showing one lane only open just before the return leg so I rode back out to Northam just in case a detour was needed but the road was open. It was a great night for a ride regardless, 20 degrees at 2.30am slight headwind for Martin but I got to see the moon going down in a orange glow in a clear night sky on my way home less than 8hrs after watching the sun go down on the way to Scarb's.

Greetings all!
Not sure why his spotwalla isn’t updating regularly- he was at Kimba this morning about 8.10 eastern. Lower temps (17 degrees) are fatiguing him as he doesn’t have his wind proof jacket on and he woke up this morning feeling slightly groggy I think but otherwise he’s going well.
I’ll see what the deal is with the spot when we next talk and I’ll update regularly from the iPhone tracker when he’s in range!
