A shout out to David Hay for bringing this to my attention. Once again, your opportunity to snag a rare certificate has been thwarted by Covid 19. Here is the info from the White Sands Missile Range regarding this year's events:
https://www.wsmr.army.mil/Trinity/P...9r8VLZv6jQNHYZd9Stx6hLqhybu_1Q4nam6yYC_NSfxLs

Per the above notice there is no mention of the October Open House so that still remains a possibility if the Pandemic is more under control by that time.

By my count (the Big List is sometimes hard to decipher) there have been 13 riders/pillions that have obtained this certificate since 2017. Matt Coffer has done it twice, and Chris Rasmussen really raised the bar with his Atomic 3000 ride.

I did not see this ride listed under the Themed Rides so I've just sent in a request to get that added.

For more information here is my original ride report from four years ago. Most of the photos are missing from the report. https://forum.ironbutt.org/index.php?threads/the-atomic-1000-a-saddlesore-to-history.1763/

Here are other threads related to the ride:

Better luck in the fall.

That's too bad this was a nice ride. Well worth the time to spend looking at the exhibits before turning around and heading home. Distancing wasn't a problem either there was plenty of room for people to move around and not be crowded.

According to Ben Ernst, there are two additional riders who did this with him in 2019 yet have not filed for a certificate, so that takes us to a "possible" 15 total riders / pillions.
