A short, 7-step guide to replace the air filter on your 1800 Gold Wing:
1) Pray, burn incense, face Mecca, and throw a virgin into a volcano (to cover all the bases)
2) Disassemble 3/4 of the motorcycle
3) At each step, consult the Factory Service Manual for instructions, spend 20 minutes trying to figure out why your bike doesn't look like the pictures, realize that you're looking at the addendum for the model that you *don't* have, look at the next page and find the *correct* instructions, then remove the part in under five seconds
4) Curse profusely (this can be done at any time)
5) Finally remove the old, oil-misted filter, remind yourself that if this were your GL1200 you'd have finished three hours ago
6) Place new filter into airbox and lose three screws while carrying airbox lid from the work bench
7) Assembly is the reverse of disassembly
See? Anyone can do it!
