Allowed tracking apps?

When using Spotwalla, as well as creating individual trips, I set up a trip that covers the year.

It gives an interesting overview for each year's rides in total!

For example here's 2022 and 2023!

It should be noted that compared to many of the other UK and European IBA riders, I am a bit of a lightweight......

The Android version of Calimoto exports the track file including the time stamps. (The iPhone version doesn't create them.)
Just in case you want switch your planning app. ;)
 
Thanks for the great info on this thread! I just did an unintentional SS1000 on my way to Sturgis which got me interested in what it would take to do it on purpose and actually get credit. I documented like crazy and even had REVER going to back up my receipts. I was very annoyed to find out that my tracking through REVER inexplicably stopped after the first 45min and I didn't catch it until many hours later. I've now got SWTracker running and I'm loving it (I'm the 8th 5 star review (or, should be ... for some reason it still shows only 7 reviews)). My SS1000 on my way home from Sturgis just got approved last Saturday even without the supporting GPS and I'm looking forward to my next submission with the Spotwalla data to back it up (Maybe a RAT Gold? :) )

Its about keeping the whole thing as simple as the rules of a ride make clear. Set a basic easy to follow route. Maybe pick some items of interest along that route and just sit them in easy reach.

Good habit is number each DBR as you get it and write the ODO as each DBR turns up. Sure take those photos too.
But
Teck is fine until its not. At this early stage in your LDR career your testing the waters and trying stuff out. Don't pin your entire ride on trackers and such alone.
Learn and use dana Game APK slot the traditional methods so you are sure of that data. The teck bit is another tool but a hammer is a hammer and so is a shifting wrench at times too.

I'm a Scenic Life and beta tester and Rever Pro user. I get where you are coming from and had the same question.

That said, the IBA has rules to make required information standardized across all users to help keep things fair and make it easier (aka faster) for the assessors (they are all unpaid volunteers).

I completed my first SS and BB this past May using SWTracker as primary (per the rules) and Scenic as back up.
I submitted links to both Spotwalla and Scenic recorded tracks with my package.

In the grand scheme of things, using SWTracker is little to no extra effort. Turn it on and forget about it till the end.
 
@Navy Gator - Note the date of the post before replying. This has been asked and answered already, months ago. And the salient point in this conversation is using Spotwalla. What app or device you choose to use to send pings to Spotwalla is entirely up to the user and what Spotwalla accepts. SWTracker by itself, w/o being linked to Spotwalla would not do you any good.

I documented everything thoroughly and even ran REVER to back up my receipts, but I was pretty frustrated when the tracking unexpectedly stopped after the first 45 minutes—and I didn’t notice until hours later.

I suspect Mark is right. The scammers are now using AI to initiate entry into forums and social media threads to both save time and to create more potential scams.

AI should have never be put in the general public’s domain. It should have been kept at Gov and Institutional levels only. All these new data centers so people can make pictures of kangaroos with headlights, etc. just wastes energy, and everyone else’s time.
 
The following happens with zero human involvement:
Ai indentifies a question that might need answering. It finds an internet location, say a forum, joins the forum, poses the question, and trains itself on the answers. Hypothetical example: what's the best way to mount a garmin GPS on a GL1800? Joins the IBA forum, poses the question in a very human-like manner, collects results.

FB for example is riddled with these posts. As are other general social media sites.

Multiply by millions.
Given that owners of major sites are also in the AI business...
If AI can get you to talk on the phone it can copy your voice and then call others pretending to be you...
Current ability to replicate text and voice exceed easy detection...

Fun, eh?
 
One of the current scams is spam calls that try to get you to say certain words or phrases, even as simple as Yes or No. Like “do you want to removed from this call list?” Then they use those words or phrases to sign you up for things to either steal/order things or spam you more.
