The above blog title caught my eye this morning...

In Zürich there is a rumor that Grizzly’s team has codenamed this effort “the Jules Verne project,” and he is, in fact, hoping to do it in 80 days. Feel free to guess how I would manage to pick up that rumor amid a throng of German speakers.

Regardless of whether he makes it around the world in 80 or 100 days, though, his record (assuming he sets it) will be hard to beat.

“How many miles a day do you think you’ll be travelling?” I ask.

“It depends on terrain, but 800 to 2,000,” he says.

“You mean kilometers?” I ask. “800 to 2,000 kilometers?”

“No. Miles.”

“Yikes! That’s, like, an Iron Butt ride every day.”

“Ha. Maybe they will give me a badge.”

I wish him well on his journey...

Good Luck Urs !!!! ( I think you will need it ).

I like the mods on his Victory, like the front rim & tire , seat, enlarged gas tank, and exhaust.

Again, he's done similar rides, so he's capable of really putting on the road miles.

Since a fair chunk of the miles will be air miles, .... :D

According to the site linked in the OP ( http://www.grizzlyraceteam.ch/?page_id=1540 he has traveled for 46 days and 15 hours. He is not counting downtime waiting for air, or other, travel and is not counting the prep time for the bike as "clock" time.

He is in the middle of Russia now. He should make it in 100 days. Maybe not 100 calendar days but riding days for sure.
