Has anyone replaced the lens on an auxiliary light before?

One of my LED Rider LX5's took a stone to the lens this weekend, and now there's a chip in it.

Getting hold of a human being at LED Rider is a challenging proposition at best.

Has anyone ever replaced a broken lens before? Like with a piece of polycarbonate sheet or something? Are there any special heat or weather issues that I need to concern myself with?
