IBA Australia Inaugural Muster

OK, still looking at registration. Had a couple of questions, the first is answered regarding points 11 and 12 with ODO readings.
But what is the PayPal address to pay for the Australia side of things? I don't want to send money off to Nigeria.
For some reason I am having difficulty collating and assimilating the correct paperwork required. I know its all written down but the payment part is a bit confusing.

Well, registrations have only been open for a week and we already have representatives from Perth to Far North Queensland!

We have booked out one motel and riders are now spilling into neighbouring motels. Suppose this is one way to keep the noisy guys quarantined :D

We still have a limited number of IBA Australia mugs available for those interested that register early.

Hi all,

After some advice from you gurus before I finalise the route ;)

I would rather avoid the main drag down the coast if possible but also do not enjoy dodging Roos. Did the run from Adelaide to Brissy after Xmas and the carnage in the outback between Adelaide and Cobar was something to behold.

Are there lots of animals around this route or just the usual randoms leaping out at you?

Intended route (so far) Brisbane - Toowoomba - Charleville then South = 1680Km. Was thinking about departing after dark to avoid the Sun strike. Should get in around mid arvo ready for beer - kip - beer (in that order).

Thanks !
Stu

Stu I ride around a bit and happily through the night. One night I dodged my estimate of two thousand roos from Broken Hill to Cobar...

That Charleville to Bourke section of the Mitchell Highway can be a carpet of fur, carcasses and random chunks of meat.

There was even a dead pig (I think) at the welcome sign on the border:

The first time I rode it was from Miles, turning south from Charleville not long after sun-up. It looked like the killing fields with dead and dying roos just out of town. Personally I'd be reluctant to ride that road through the night as you're describing.

Last time I rode that area was in May. After seeing the carnage north from Bourke in the afternoon I was dreading the run east from my fuel stop at Cunnamulla into the dark. Surprisingly I only saw and braked for 7 roos from there to Moonie. Different road, but just one 'rung' south.

Stu have to agree with OX, had a mate come down about a week ago and wildlife is still everywhere after dark. I'd be reluctant to travel at night in that area.

My plan, when I can register, is start at Pheasants Nest Servo, Sth Gundagai, out to Narranderra Hay, Mildura retrace back to Narranderra , West Wyalong then Parkes.
Approx 1654 Ks. Start at Midday Friday.
Means Hay Plains at night but probably the safer of the route choices?

If there are recent decent rain, then most of the potential road kill will be away from the roads, feeding. This time of year, and rain will bring the green to the roadside verge, attracting the 'roos. By July, one would hope that there has been some substantial rains to keep the critters in their feeding. grounds. I would think this would apply to anywhere. My recent rides have used this strategy, on the 50CC in October 2014, didn't see one.
However, there is always a "traveller", moving from day camp, to feeding ground and vice versa, around dawn and dusk.

Just email the rego form and paid.
Looking at doing a loop in Vic starting in Friday arvo, home for a couple of hours rest in the middle of the night and then up to Albury and Parkes from there.
Looking forward to it!!

Hi guy's.
I'll be doing my registration after 20th when I get full internet allowance back. Anything more than a post is just a disaster.

Stu I'l be using a route from Moree to Bourke then south to Cobar down to Nanrranera as I have in the past only this trip will see me trought that southerly section almost 4 hrs earlier than past rides.
Ron's on th money regards those solo travellers. And Ox landed a carpet in the past.
Thing is emu's are on the rise and have been over these past two years. If the wind cycle's run ahead of the month as they have been. then its likely the dregs of those larger mobs might be of consideration.

Im heading out Bourke way Friday for a look see. I'll take a look at the risk factors then.

New tyre and a need to practice my emergency braking...been off the bike too long.

I have a rather boring but maybe safer trip down the M1 under consideration.

Brisbane - M1 - Sydney inland via Goulburn - Wagga Wagga - Parkes 1660km. Have never done this route always gone inland and avoided the main drag in the past so maybe that's a good thing to try :) .... thinking of the upside here. Also might be a bit warmer than the inland route.
