We had a great turnout for the Lake Michigan SS1K on July 25th that started & ended just south of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

We had a total of 62 Riders and 3 Pillions finish the ride, including two Dad's and their teenage daughters ( 16 & 17 y/o ).

4 Riders's and 1 Pillion and 1 passenger didn't finish for various reasons. One Rider with a sidecar had his spouse riding pillion and his daughter in the sidecar. They had a flat tire, and after the repair got back on the road, but only to have the final drive go out not too far from the finish. Disappointing !!!

Everyone seemed to have had a great time. But it would have been even more enjoyable if the temperature had been a little lower, tho. In Iron Mountain, MI , in the U.P. the temp was 85 degrees and it got hotter as we traveled south to the Chicago area. On US-151 as we approached Madison , the two left lanes were closed due the pavement buckling.

We had two seniors do the ride - 68 & 72 y/o. And one M.D. and one PhD , too. Just proves that the defective gene can be found across all socio-economic and age groups.

But the really cool thing is that 41 new IBA numbers will be issued !!!
