As a big thank you to the NHS how about we combine the two great causes so riders can make a contribution either to one or both by riding the 1000 or 500 mile routes.

My 2c worth is we stick with the legion; the NHS will be feted everywhere already, until the crisis is over when it'll go back to being taken for granted and/or sold off to the highest bidder.

i don't think the next election is the one to win - the last 10 yrs of austerity may look very tame (there may be a boris bounce)

uncle rishi will want his money back with interest

i'd only do a ride if i knew the money was actually going to front line staff not lost in the melting pot of tiers of management
