In the Big List there is a ride Saddle Sore 3000K in less then 48 hours and SaddleSore 3000K Gold in less then 36 hours. But when you click on it and go to the information of the ride, scrolling down to the Ride and Requirement it says SaddleSore 3000K in 36 hours and SaddleSore 3000K Gold in 24 hours. Am i missing som information on this ride? Best regards Dan

Just a guess , the 3k/48 is in miles. The other two are kilometre based rides. The 3k/24 can only be done in North America and Australia if memory serves.

I believe the 48/36 hour time limits are correct, but I'm checking with Mike and Howard.

Just to be clear, the letter K denotes 1,000, so when someone says 3000K, they are saying 3000 * 1000 (which results in a number so astronomically high that science has yet to name it). If you want to say 3,000 with the letter K, it's simply 3K.

Not true in this case. In this context, the K stands for kilometers (in the computer biz, it actually stands for 1,024, not 1,000). The Saddlesore 3000K is a ride of no less than 3,000 kilometers.

As an aside, the name for the number when you multiply 3000 times 1000 is "three million". :)

So I suppose the time for each run is 48/36 hour time. Or is it something else?
Best regards Dan.

Fwiw and imho.
If the 3000K/24 Gold is currently only possible in Australia (NT), Germany and the USA (Texas) then the 3000K/48 and 3000K/36 Gold would be correct.

I would also suggest that the 3000K/24 might be allocated a different distinction, e.g. 3000K/24 RUNUTS :D (g'day Tabledrain ;))
