I think that would be fine as long as you hit each checkpoint and the majority of the ride is done on the original day. I plan to start on the M6 in Cheshire at 3 am and hopefully see everyone at the Coventry checkpoint which will actually be my second stop at 5am ish. I’m sure the experts will be along shortly to confirm.Would it be possible to start at home (in Kent) and roll though the mass start at 5am so I can go back to my own bed at the end of the ride? Or would that be classed as a normal SS1000?
mmm a bit risky even at 3am - good luck with thatI plan to start on the M6 in Cheshire at 3 am
Don't know about postage costs, not a big deal to wait for the certificate etc after the ride. I don't mind covering the postage.mmm a bit risky even at 3am - good luck with that
i can just see the headlines in the Knutsford Guardian now...............
if you start elsewhere along the route is there an additional postage charge for the various items on top of the entry fee or, is it all in?
(i assume at the mass start t shirts/stickers etc would be handed out then)
postage question wasn't for you - nevermindDon't know about postage costs, not a big deal to wait for the certificate etc after the ride. I don't mind covering the postage.
Im starting at Lymm Poplar services as there is 24hr fuel and I'm only 10 miles from that junction. Hopefully I'll see everyone at the start at 5 am and I've got to go there anyway. Then I'm doing the south loop first, then North.
You can start anywhere ride two complete circles and finish where you startedWould it be possible to start at home (in Kent) and roll though the mass start at 5am so I can go back to my own bed at the end of the ride? Or would that be classed as a normal SS1000?
That is correct. No postage chargesmmm a bit risky even at 3am - good luck with that

If you start off the route you will have to do extra miles but still finish in 24Hrs. It's up to you. As long as your start receipt is at the same place as your end receipt and you do two loops. you will have done more than 1000 miles.Hey, I've just registered to join in with the fun. Any chance I can start from Norwich rather than Ipswich? Its still well over the 1000 miles just as someone mentioned earlier, easier to set off from home and end at home. Makes more sense to me this way.
Thanks Phil, I checked the milage and if anything its a little further by about 90 miles but happy to do it if I can peel myself off the bike and fall directly into bed.If you start off the route you will have to do extra miles but still finish in 24Hrs.
