I read about that just before CC and just had a look on Google Maps. LTP and I have ridden to Windorah from Longreach then east to Quilpie which is bitumen, not sure how far bitumen extends west towards Birdsville from Windorah?

Sounds like a great spot for a beer or 3..

I remember Ziggy well. Stopped in for a beer in 1987 on my way home from doing the Canning Stock Route, followed by the Ann Beadel Track then across the Simpson into Birdsville. Next was Betoota before turning south and home via the Border Fence. Left the Fence and turned left into Broken Hill and finally home. Eight and a half weeks of desert travel. Great. Also even better news that Ziggy's memory will live on.
