I would like to thank; TJ, LTP, Fatman, Jeff the Chef, Philmore, Nico, Kwaka, Tiger Bill and everyone that supported us in hosting a great Mansfield Muster. Really guys, you made the weeked a great success; thank you!

It was a great catching up with everyone and what an evening, and we even had one 'newbie', great stuff. Thank you for your participation, input, respectfulness and honesty. We have a list of items that we will follow up and address as your IBA representative.

I was saddened to hear that Mixr had a mishap with a roo this morning, what bad luck but at least your O.K. I really hope the weekend is event free for those still travelling.

Looking forward to next year guys, Skidoo

Thanks to the organisers and everyone associated with this Muster. An excellent gathering of the Aussie IBA members

We had a great time riding and socialising. Good to see everyone again and share the latest news. All up it was a good prep for us as countdown to June and the IBR.

Sorry to hear of the roo strikes and hope those riders are all OK.

Thoroughly enjoyed my first Muster. The opportunity to catch up with those members that I haven't seen for a while was special. To the organisers, I thank you for you hard work [sometimes forgotten] to put the show together. I spoke with Mixr on Sunday morning, he was awaiting a friend to arrive to give him a lift home. I've only just found out about Vlad's encounter. Hope he is OK as well.

No Roo strike for me, though came close a couple of times on the run up the guts.Did manage to bag a 50cc and a centerline 24 with 2 mins to spare.
Great AGM this year and I too would like to thank everyone involved as well as all the punters who showed up.

Untill next time.

Congratulations Vlad on knocking over both the 50CC and the Centreline 24. I knew you were keen to have a crack at the Melb to Darwin Coast to Coast but I didn't realise you were attempting it straight after the Mansfield Muster.

Fantastic effort mate.. Well done!

I can only echo the sentiments of all who have expressed their thanks and appreciation for the time and effort that went into organising this excellent weekend. A great time was had by all, both on the road and in the pub !!

Thrilled that I could attend and especially pleased that i could ride my first IBA distance effort since the last event in Dalby QLD.
I really do need to get out more :p

Really wonderful to see Jeff the Chef roll into Mansfield just after midnight with his very special pillion cargo. An excellent effort by you both to put such a ride together.

I waved Vlad farewell from the Motel on Sunday morning and at that stage his intention to ride the Centreline was not set in cement. It was a case of head toward Melbourne and "see how I feel when I get there" . You obviously felt well enough mate to knock off such an epic ride\s in very short time. Awesome effort Scott and , like the other lads and lassies, I really look forward to the ride report from that one. Congratulations !

To all who made the effort to attend, thank you. Among our group, the 1610 klm is almost 'understated'. By any standards, it still is a marvellous effort and not one to underestimate. Well done to all the riders who achieved their personal goals. The camaraderie is very special indeed and that is what makes the weekend so special for me. I am looking forward to next April already.

As Jeff Fenech would say ... "I love yous all"

Well apart from MIXRs rooStrike the hours since Sunday breakfast have been off my radar. Left for a look at a house to buy at Frances another at Tinntinara a church at Mundulla and a return up the Hume. I might add i took in the sights of Violet Town Dookie hills west country of Wangarrata and a feed there. Then thought bugga that other stuff. Got to Lake Rowan and thought no i should look at these houses. And with Crappys words i did just that. I ignored that as far as Wellington. Went looked at all those houses and now im just home.

So I too wish to express my thanks to the hardened crew who get this show together.
Its my fourth muster and third success.
But most of all it has been a pleasure to catch up. And most wonderfull to see Henk and to learn of Jeffs involvement to make that happen. Well done to you both.
I was talking with Hagar and Crappy Saturday morning about some issues with a house build thats been pestering me. Crappy said "oh they sound like good problems" Thanks mate. Your correct and now i know yes they are.
Its that sort of off bike fellowship shared that i enjoy very much.
Thank you all. Graham it too was good to share a table and chat.
Cheers Chris

So pleased to see yours and Marls bike together there Ron, now how about some pics and stories for those living this vicariously?
They are getting to be rare occasions. I don't have any pics.
The ride was a fairly straight forward plan with Marls in mind. Mildura to Mansfield, to Goulburn and return. Leave at 5am arrive at 12 midnight.
A bit of caution on the Sturt in the dark, then onto the Murray Valley Highway, fuel stops at Swan Hill and Echuca, then to Mansfield via Mooroopna, and Euroa. Ron knowing better, ignoring the GPS, ended diverting through Murchison. That was an oops, I thought at the time. I enjoyed the Euroa Merton run, before we checked into our digs, at around midday, dumped the panniers off both bikes, fueled up and headed back out onto the Hume North.
Fueled at Holbrook, then at TDOTTB, had a brief power nap, then to Goulburn. I checked Marls' fuel dockets and decided we didn't need the Gundagai stop, so straight back to Holbrook. Added a coffee to the body, check the BOM radar. It was fairly ominous to the West of Mansfield, and we were about 2.30hrs from our destination. Decided not to tell Marls, but kept a good pace down the Hume.
About 20km short, I'd had enough of the stress of night time ride. Pulled over had a lie on the gravel for 2 minutes, emptied the bladder, and all was good with the world again.
That rest put us 5 minutes past our target.
I'm happy....I need to do a bit more on my fitness. Marls, maybe, has done her last IBA ride, informing me she struggled towards the end.

We left at 5am Sunday morning arrived home at 1pm. The run back to Euro was bloody cold, with the visor fogging up, then fog, with a few 'roos thrown in. It was good to miss them for a change, which gave me a little more confidence that we were taking an evasive (80k/hr) in the hills.

With Australia in drought they are coming to the road edges for the little green pickings. It's a bugger that others have had the mishap of hitting the marsupials, but until it rains and they can find their feed off the road, we are at risk. Vlad and Mixr, I hope your both OK.
The pic Rus was referring to.

Just an observation along my route and posted off the back of Rons observations.
The first being the level of wash both in gully's and the creeks. Some of this has already been removed but in places those culverts will remain choked. So a sudden and short storm in the weeks or months to come might see them spill up across the roads. My track was Armidale Gunnedah Coolah Dunedoo Wellington Molong Cowra Young Canowindra and Coolac. Before entering the Hume. These areas being obvious. Those regions no doubt spread wider. The sudden short downpour aside those locations typify weeds growth and tucker for many and all road side critters.
If you follow my track ill then ad crop sowing in vigorous action inclusive of the old Hume and on up to Echuca across to Yarrawonga and then evident Sunday south back to the Hume. Coolah and Bylong Valley Mudgee Premer Peel etc. If these crops begin to shoot and then lag along to start to produce then the surviving roos wombats deer pigs and soft hits will be an issue in the next 18 months.
Roos etc are part of our game. Deer now are very common from Stanthorp, Warialda Ebor Graton and as far west as the Coorong
Im just posting my observations over 5 days of a brush stroke across part of Australia. Maybe worth logging away for a later date.

An eventful few days guys. Was a last minute decision to come down due to other things, but a great catch-up. Fantastic bunch of riders.

Yes, I left early Sunday and got about 30 km towards Benalla when a big bastard buck roo came off the RHS embankment at full hop. I would normally call an 'Oh Shit' moment, but didn't even get as far as the 'O'!

Saw him as I hit him. Had slowed to 90 in the 100 zone anyway, but absolutely no chance to do anything useful.

There is nothing much in the way of plastic forward of the headlight. Headlight grill is bent like a banana, so he hit head on and central. I swear he tried to kiss me on the way past. Bike went down hard RHS. Me too. Gear is shredded, but I'm pretty much ok. Bit of deep bruising from the fall, and a tiny graze RHS elbow where the armour wore through. Spotties all stuffed, forks marked up, radiators probably trashed. Steering head feels notchy. Crash bars saved the engine. Bars now stuffed. Soft Andy Strapz panniers (my new ones!) saved the rear end. Instruments intact but whole assembly is hanging on the leads. Roo demolished RHS tank plastics on the way through. Road did the rest. Only slid 10 or 12 metres, but new and very coarse bitumen.

May be a write-off. Rescued by a truckie with an empty Pantech and a big platform loading ramp. Wonderful assistance. Left the bike at the pub for last two nights. Owner was pleased to provide a home for it.

Collected bike today and brought it home. Discussed with insurer (Western QBE). Taking it to Rolfe BMW tomorrow for start of appraisal and then assessor.

Not sure about front wheel, disks, steering, suspension, tele-lever etc etc etc. Wait and see.

Bike can be replaced. I'm ok (mostly). Add me to the roo-strike list. Will post some pics when I get the chance.

Cheers, Mick.
