What can I say Craig, your a nutta and what an AWSOME effort! Really enjoyed the read and what a ride.

You make any excuse to detour via Peterborough to buy some of the, 'Lions' cake lol. I think I save you buy them out on one occasion :)

What a mammoth effort by Ms Wom, you are certainly well supported.

Stit back and savour the ride any enjoy the post ride pain; again congratulations mate on an epic groundbreaking ride.

Once again HUGE CONGRATULATIONS on being the first certified Dusty Butt rider in Aus & outside of the US....brilliant ride report...and to Mrs Wom a HUGE HUG of appreciation for sharing and supporting our certifiably crazy friend...so whats next????
Not to kick any dust on Wombattles achivement, but I'd say that there are more Dusty Butt finishers outside the US than within the borders of.

Less than 50 riders have completed the distance and carry the right kind of regalia to claim bragging rights...

...and less than 10 of these rides has been preformed in the US, according to our own records.

Largest group ride was done in South Africa back in 2004

...and another 9 riders made it in an 2012 event.

Must say I was surpriced that no ride has been officially done in AUS untill now, but then you struggle with wild life in a way that not many others are doing.

Hat's off for you, Wombattle.
I must say that you guys at your end of the world really rock with your attitude and efforts on small bikes and what not.

One day I'd just might set foot in Straya, and just guess if I'd like to have someone to pilot me thorugh the wildlife then.

Congrats on the first one in Oz Craig, well done.
Your a braver man than me doing it solo.
Thanks Thommo. Being first was a matter of luck and timing. Nice, but I'm more pleased about having ticked the "Dusty Butt" box on the bucket list. Now a few of us have had some experience at a Dusty Butt there's a local repository of first-hand knowledge to help others who might be thinking of having a crack. The hardest thing about this ride seems to be getting the mind set and ready to have a crack and getting to the start in conditions that are favourable. Other than that it's just enormous fun.

I'm interested in comparing your experience of doing it as a group to doing it solo so I hope to see an RR of your ride. For me solo with some standy support if required seemed a better option. However checking back on the finishers list on the IBA site I was surprised to see that only two of the 48 or so that are listed rode solo. Maybe there's a message to take home from that.
Congrats again on your own ride. "Go the mighty DR's and KLR's".

Will definitely be an upcoming RR from us, Wom and I reckon there are lots of good learnings to be had from both - i certainly went over your report many times in the few days after you put it up, so thanks for putting it up some promptly!
Definitely the most intense iba ride I have done and right up there ad far as memorable rides go too.
