Dear Fellow Riders,

Hello!

I am concerned as I have not yet received my certification, nor have I received any response regarding its status.

I completed the SaddleSore 1000 challenge in June 2024 in Canada and mailed all the required documents on August 16. The tracking number confirms that my documents were successfully delivered. However, after seven months, I have yet to receive my certification.

I sent an inquiry via email but have not received a response.

I still have copies of all my documents, but I have refrained from resending them to avoid causing confusion for the volunteers. Additionally, since I did not use the designated GPS app, I am unable to submit my documents online and have not subscribed to the premium membership.

As I have no further means of contacting them, I am quite worried.

I would greatly appreciate any advice you may have.

Canadian riders have to be extra patient. Not sure why but that is the general theme from first time riders up there. Plan a ride summers coming.

Yes, summer is just around the corner—I can't wait!

That being said, this ride was a very special journey for me. If it gets approved, it will become a perfect and precious memory.

I wish I could become a premium member, but I believe the recommended GPS app may not function properly. This is because GPS signals frequently drop in mountainous areas.

I look forward to becoming part of the community.

You must wait to be certified before becoming a premier member. The tracking is not a requirement for premier membership, or many IBA rides. There are different ways of submitting rides for certification, including mailed in paper forms. Today, mailed in versions usually take longer to get processed. Electronic submissions with photos work best. For many rides, Spotwalla tracking info is still optional on submissions, so signal issues won’t matter.

Sorry to read that your certification is taking so long. Please remember, your ride will always be a perfect and precious memory, regardless of certification or not! There is no time limit for submitting rides. As long as you still have the documentation, it can be submitted years afterwards. Consider continuing to plan and accomplish IBA rides while you wait for your membership/certification. Just submit the additional rides after you have an IBA number.
 
We did the Saddlesore 1600KM (Canada) and submitted electronically July 9, 2024 and still have not heard anything either.
 
Just a follow up to the above post. We are a few weeks shy of a year since paperwork submitted (and received an email stating it was received) and have heard nothing. At this point, I have given up on being certified. At least I know we did it; I doubt I will do any other rides though.
 
@shoe_junky1 - beyond frustrating. Little will happen this week due to the IBR being in progress, but you should PM Ira on this forum with your ride submission date and details. He's not directly involved with certifications, but knows who to poke.

Here are some factors that can effect the length of time it takes for your ride to be approved:

1. The number of rides submitted before you that are still in the que.
2. The complexity of the ride and the rides submitted before you.
3. The quality of the documentation for the ride and the rides submitted before you.
4. Applicants not checking their spam folders for responses/questions from the certification team.
5. Certifiers are volunteers, they do rides and attend rallies themselves as well as do other tasks for the IBA such as scout bonus locations for the various rallies held...

新しい申請書を提出する必要がありますか?
それとも、1年前に提出したものの結果を待った方が良いでしょうか?
私の体調と状況を考えると、これ以上長い距離を走るのは難しいです。
 
Hello,
I am Sameer jakhar from India. I completed the precious ride in November 2024. I mailed all the documents and images, and it's been so long i haven't received any mail from the association.
I completed the ride solo. And it was not easy.
Relatives and friends are making fun of me because i told them i will get a certificate and it's been so long there is no response from Iron butt association.
I request you please review my application as soon as possible.

ベネルクスに最初の申請書を再度提出することを検討してください。米国外からの申請はIBAベネルクスの方がはるかに迅速に処理されます。ウェブサイトと要件をよくお読みになり、ご質問がある場合は提出前にお問い合わせください。
