Celtic Rally 2025 Dragon Edition
12 Hour Photo Rally

6th September 2025, Wrexham, Wales.
This event is being organised by IBA Ireland.
It is the second in a series of rallies in the Celtic fringes of Europe, following on from the highly successful Celtic Rally - Tartan Edition in Scotland last year.
The Rallymaster for the 2025 Celtic Rally is once again, Chris McGaffin – Past Brit Butt, European Tour and Wolfhound Rallymaster, Celtic Rallymaster 2024 and multiple times successful Iron Butt Rally Finisher at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels.
Riders will receive the bonus book and GPX files via email, 48 hours prior to the start. Riders will receive details of the Rally hotel, which will be used for Finish and Awards Ceremony on payment of the entry fee.
Rally Start
Wrexham area - 0700 hrs 6th September 2025
Rally Finish
A hotel in Wrexham - 1900 hrs 6th September 2025
Once again, we are keeping this event as simple as possible – both for Rider and the Organisers.
You can book a room at the finish hotel or one nearby if you wish, but it will be your responsibility to do so. You can stay anywhere you want on the previous evening (even at home), the only stipulation is that you must be at the disclosed start location at 0700 hrs on the 6th September 2025. Food and drink will be up to you. There will be no rally swag either.
Scoring will be conducted face to face. Simply hand in your score sheet and show us your photos – either on a Mobile phone or Digital camera.
Rally is restricted to 30 riders. Rally entry fee is £35. (the £5 increase this year due to overheads increase – otherwise we lose money!).
To enter, send an email with “Celtic Rally 2025” in the subject line and state your name, physical mailing address and contact phone number to [email protected].
If your application is successful, you will receive a Paypal Invoice, to be paid within 7 days.
Remember, this event is restricted to 30 riders. Once we hit 30, that’s it.
If you want to enter don’t delay.

The 2025 Celtic Rally - Dragon Edition, was held on Saturday 6th September. Rally HQ Wrexham, Wales. . Riders had 12 Hours to visit their choice of locations for points collection. Bonus book had the usual Hazards -(locations worth MINUS points) - but this year we had a special treat for the riders.

The bonus book had been emailed 48 hrs before the start. The riders were unaware it was missing one page. At the start meeting 30 mins prior to launch time, they were presented with an offer at a cost of 1000 points. Buy the missing page containing 4 combination bonuses and an extra 30 mins riding with no time penalty). A show of hands was requested.

Some hands shot up...others slowly raised hands, a few looked to see who was raising their hand and then appeared to curse under their breath and then raise their own hand ! 10 riders out of 16 took the offer.
Dry, sunny weather throughout the day.
Results were as follows:
1st - Robert Koeber 19,419
2nd - Arjenn Steiner 16,701
3rd - Eamon Phelan 15,751
4th - Steve Eversfield 14,345
5th - Dave Winter 14,326
6th= Robert Taggart 13,622
6th= Michael Wood 13, 622
8th - Markus Rosenfeld 12,365
9th - Gerald Perkins 11,320
10th - Colin McEwan 10,728
11th= John O’Sullivan 10,293
11th= Victor O’Sullivan 10,293
13th - Graham Lindley 8,772
14th - Dave Badcock 8,167
15th - Daryll / Holly Kirk 7,529

Unfortunately one two up team didn't hit the minimum points value of 7,000 due to time penalties incurred on return.

Bonus book, GPX files and Google maps link will be made available to all on our website at a later date.

Many thanks to all the riders who took part. A good time appeared to be had by all and no matter the finishing position , the post rally evening is a great time to swap stories of the day.
2026 Celtic Rally - Shamrock Edition to be held June 2026. Details to be announced soon.

Hi Guys,

Chris said there's no swag so make your own if you want. I made myself a couple of Long Sleeve T's in Emerald Green and I was pleased with the results. So much so, and I think this is OK, I'd like to offer them to you. A normal or long sleeve, any size in Emerald green as the design to one UK address at £15 each or to mainland Europe at £20 each (£10 if I bring to the rally assuming I can fit them onto my bike!)Celtic.JPG. If you'd like one just eMail the details to me.
