"It has been said that at the extremes of this sport reading comprehension becomes very important."

Interestingly, it may not be just at the extremes of our sport. Thanks Peter for this one liner.

The IBA Australia web page has been updated under the Rides & Rules tab to include a menu item headed;
Ride Applications & Verification

Hopefully this will help those riders wishing to have rides ridden in Australia, verified and the methods available for submission including some of the issues that may create a slow down in the verification process.

Should you wish to make enquiries regarding the information contained there please email [email protected]

Over the past few years we have been receiving increasing number of requests from the IBA verification team regarding some of our ride submissions. We established the page above to assist riders ensuring the best and quickest possible outcome once they had submitted their rides application.

The page referred to above has been updated with a few extra issues that have been occurring, please, before submitting your ride application, have a read through this to ensure you have given your application the best chance of a quick outcome.

added to the above page:

—the ozapplications email is for applications, not for general communications. If they have a question send it to me at my private email address. (please contact us on the IBA Australia web page and we will give you this address)

—DON’T send any communication to more than one person. DON’T cc anybody. (this has caused multiple processing, which has resulted in undue delays)

—On applications that involve nested rides, or multiple rides, detail EACH ride separately, with the start and finish times and locations and distances clearly stated. (When a ride is super-hard to figure out , the verifier often closes the file and goes on to other more simple applications, and then the complicated one might get lost in the shuffle.)

—Use the form that we designed http://ironbutt.com/rideapp/rideappoz.htm. (When each rider designs their own form, it plays havoc with the verifiers who are trying to do a speedy, yet thorough job.)
