I have had the Gortex lining replaced when they used to offer a full strip down and reconstruction, it has been the waterproof that has finally failed and the boot looking knackered, never required a new sole, I think because I tend to ride not walk.

Hope you decide on an R2E at Altberg as I'd come.

Hmm, email from Altberg today says they no longer do refurbishment (you're right Dave) although they do do resoling with a circa three week turnaround. Hoggs made to order circa 10-12 week lead time.

Confirmed with shop, they're open 0900-1600 on the 10th Feb so I will be there at about 10am followed by a visit to the Manor Café for about noon.

Today I spent 40 minutes getting my feet measured and trying on boots. New pair of Hoggs ordered 4-5 weeks for manufacture and delivery
