Approval time on certifications

Did you each submit separately? Did you each use your own pictures?

Sometimes nested rides take longer. If someone flagged it because they suspected shared pictures, it may have gotten put on the back burner for someone else to go through it again.
Yes, we submitted separately and used our own pictures of odometers/receipts. The only shared images would have been the google map and hotel receipt.

we submitted separately
Two separate applications delayed/lost/being eaten by the dog begs these questions:
Which e-mail did you send them to? There are two that I know of. One for premier and one for non-premier.
Are you a Premier member? If so, where you at the time of submission? Perhaps your Premier membership lapsed (Easier to do than you might think.)

They were sent to the [email protected] address. We got the automated responses that they were received. We are not premier members.

Unfortunately that is the slower side of the certifications. Hopefully Ira answers the white phone soon.

Just an FYI..got my approval for my ride. 13 months. We needed to ask for my wife's approval to be resent to a different email address. The approval email comes from a paypal.com address and she used her work email and they blocked it completely. Maybe something they should note in the procedure.

Trying to “become “; what forms do I need and from where, and what is “procedure “? Do the rides have to be “organized “? Is there someone in E central WI that I may speak?

Welcome to the Forum @Bassett . The link given by Ira gets you there.

There are several methods, but the standard electronic method is best for 1st timers, (not the IBA store purchase). Pick a SS1K or BB1500, plan a route using your exact fuel stops, ride that exact route, take the pictures required with your receipt and ODO, (make sure you have the required info on the DBRs, (Dated Business Receipts), and submit it to the correct email listed. You will get confirmation of receipt, then nothing until it’s verified. Not uncommon for that to take 6-12 weeks.

Some find the BB1500 easier as a first ride since you have 36 hours instead of the SS1K’s 24 hours. You don’t have to ride 1k miles in the first 24, your total for the 36 hours just needs to exceed 1500 miles, as verified by the IBA. Add 3-5% over 1k on your mapped route to be certain. Your odo is only a reference to track sequence, not valid for distance measurement.

No, it doesn’t have to be organized. And most of the time it’s better done by yourself. Too many riders, to many differing needs.

Got more questions, start a new thread, don’t piggy back onto one about a different topic. And don’t forget to do Searches too, tons of good info on the forum. Read This: Long Distance Riding Tips

Good afternoon, I am from Canada. I submited a Trans Canada West ride in July 2024. I got a reply that my ride is in queue and nothing after, Is there a way to verify if I missed a reply email in my spam folder? ( Which I tried to checked regularly ).

I submited my ride by email. I have no problem to continue to wait, I just want to be sure I didn't missed anything. Thanks

Ref. post #9 in this thread. The Iron Butt Rally has been completed, and it is well-known that Canadian rides take significantly longer to approve.

Suggest emailing @Ira with details.

Thank you very for your quick reply and your kind suggestion. I did sent Ira a direct message with details. But I am puzzle by your reply. I can't see a raison why a Canadian ride take sighificantly longer to get approve? I was under the impression rides are look after by order of submission.

It's the conversion rate. If y'all didn't use metric time, it would go faster. :D
