Brit Butt Tour 2025

A very wet, dirty and cold ride today still enjoyed it. Went via some lovely Wiltshire and Gloucestershire villages to Hawkesbury Upton monument. Couldn’t park opposite as the lay-by was full but luckily found a small area I could stop in for a few minutes to get my photo. The rain turned to slushy snow as I headed for home so took the slightly more boring direct route home. Nice to get my little bike out today and the screen and handguards are very welcome in the cold. It’s only a 310cc but still great fun to ride if you aren’t in any hurry.

Got my Tour under way on Saturday with a trip to mid-Wales. The roads were filthy in places, and it was barely above freezing, but it was good to get out - first ride of the year.

Got out and about today collecting a few of these on the way to the RTE in Colchester. Rode stright past QC to the bottom of the hill before realising my error :D U-turn in the ford. Had a discussion with some ducks at EA, and had much fun trying to locate ZA.
Good to meet everyone at the Diner in Colchester. Great food and good chat.

Hey all,

This month, I’ve gathered a small collection - some from a trip back from Dorset and others during a 420-mile round trip to view a house in sunny Morecambe. The journey wasn’t without issues, though.
On the way to Morecambe, I blew a fork seal, noticed my kickstand springing back (thanks to fresh lubrication from a weeping crankcase caused by a hairline crack from previously dropping the bike on the drive - oops), and lost both headlights while flashing a car out of a junction. Fortunately, I had fog lights and managed to buy a replacement H7 bulb to keep going. With the bike just hitting 24k miles, it’s time for a valve check and some much-needed TLC.

Will resume the fun in Feb.

Ride Safe

It was almost dry roads all the way today! A trip to Gloucestershire to find the Rea Swing bridge. Really didn’t expect to find a swing bridge there. I carried on over the bridge riding alongside the river which judging by the state of the road had very recently flooded passing back over another swing bridge.

First photos of the year, nipped up to get new tyres from my favourite supplier near Manchester, and home again, a scenic route.

Has anyone maganed to get SC? I'm looking at the maps to complete a 550 mile round trip, but SC seems to be one I can't work out. Everywhere on this road says No Stopping?

I think the photos are from the bottom of Samphire Hoe. Go through the traffic light controlled tunnel to the bottom, hence the time restriction.

A trip to Hampshire today to Freefolk - Watership Down Inn (HA) so nice to see the sunshine and clear blue skies. Heated kit still very much needed though. Good to see a few other bikers venturing out today too. I had thought I may call into the pub but it looked quite busy with Sunday lunches and not sure it’s the type of pub which would welcome a biker turning up in fairly dirty bike kit.

Gordon is quite correct. The top of the tunnel starts from a lay-by pull-in on the main road.
