looking at the possibilities of hiring a bike in the vancouver in 2026 region has anyone got any knowledge of this good companies to use and any pitfalls etc

I did not answer this when I first saw it as I was there so long ago. I rented an Electra Glide in Vancouver and rode to Vancouver Island, up to the top and a ferry from Port Hardy to Bella Coola. I rode around several towns and back to Vancouver along the Sea to Sky Highway past Whistler.

It was a fantastic trip with my wife, the bike was week one, then we did the Rocky Mountineer for a couple of days and a final week in a Camper Van up the Glacial Highway.

The bike rental was through the Harley-Davidson Owners Club (HOG). They had bikes in strategic cities around the World with very reasonable rental rates. I took advantage of many of these and it was a very beneficial extra to my HOG Membership.

So the only thing I can say is DO IT; you will not regret it, we have many images from this tip and it also resulted in me pursuing my dream of a 1951 Panhead.

Riders Share is worth a look. They show one in Vancouver, BC and one just accross the border in Blaine, WA. Not sure you’d want to cross the border on a rental though.

Riders Share

Cycle BC has been around for decades and has a good rep too. They do scooters, motorcycles and even bicycles, plus rent gear, do tours, etc.
