curiosity about special rides (for Spain)

I am a bit "deceived" seing many special IBA rides along many countries but not in mine - Spain.

It is someway weird as this is a country with long and high motorcycle lovers tradition, and also culture and history. Maybe related to the fact looks like not many spaniards involved in this group.

As I guess they all start with some member having a good idea for a ride that could be repeated, and as per some people suggestion in this line, I have started to think about some "could be nice". But to make it a reality I got some doubts.

My first doubt arised when I tried to import that usual idea of many four corners rides in other countries. The problem there is spain is a too big country. No way to integrate such extent into an actual base IBA ride. The shortest way to cover the corners mean more than 3K kms trip. So does it make sense to put such in an IBA ride? how could it integrate a SS or BB and still look like usual system?

Apart of that there are a couple trip/ride ideas based in traditional ways I have in mind.

One based in the Way of St. James (guess most here will know that), and the other on life/movements of Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar "El Cid", a middle age knight famous for "El cantar de mio cid", spanish equivalent to french "chanson de roland" or saxon "Beowulf":

I have crossed all the roads in both along different trips, and had idea of using directly as a base for a single ride long ago, but now realized both are perfect to be used as base for theme SS or BB routes.

So how should I proceed to define them in a way suitable to make future special rides? Can I propose now as I already know the points and roads or should I start doing a true IBA ride following them? How should I record/make/setup eventual waypoints and procedures like what to visit and where to make pictures? Who and how should I send or advise whatever?

I have one ride all prepared for IBA but still need to do it myself first to see what timeframe is «achievable« for all ....and then I broke a leg so had to postpone it untill spring next year......it is a little bit more than a Bun Burner though not as hard as the End to End of Europe
Patience my friend it will be open for challengeloving riders asap!

That sounds great!! In the meanwhile if it helps count on me for checking times or whatever - I have been riding all spain for near 20 years now and I will probably know any road you plan to use. ;)

But that does not solve my doubts on "how to's" for eventual proposals. :p

PD: "End to End?" What ride is that one

End to End is partly in Spain.....Start is Nordkapp,Norway and finish in Tarifa Spain......extreme ride.....Gold within 66 hrs

The ride includes 4 corners in Spain and Portugal by the way.....End to end rules are somewhere on the web but I have no link to that for you....others will help you with that....I hate computers...

I have been checking that. I have already visited all the corners (I love lighthouses :D )

I was thinking about making an SS2500 over the four coordinates IN SPAIN. Start in Tarifa, moving up to galicia to cover west and north, and then to creus for east end. But looks like a bit weird tour to be "the four corners" as the northern and western point are very near.

The true extremes of iberian peninsula, I guess what you have in mind, would include Cabo da Roca, but would be real hard to cover in 36 hours.

The final complete corners could include Cabo de Gata, as while not a compass extrem it as true geogaphical "corner", where sea currents change between mar de alboran and the rest of mediterranean.

I have covered all those places many times so if you have any need I am sure I can help you :)

I have not seen that "end to end", but crossing all europe at such speed would be sort of a waste for me now... still many of those countries to know in depth to pass them running so fast, so for me no need. :D
