Leaving the memorial yesterday in the early light and rolling east to Nyngan was a perfect way to close out this very off the cuff, very unofficial gathering.
The GPS tells me 2848km across 44hrs, 1 and a half refuels and dinner in Wilcannia that consisted of 5 good friends and a meat pie and pastie all in perfect riding weather.

Thanks for a great catch up guys.

I started my run home with a docket in Wilcannia at 0730hr; South through Broken Hill to Gol Gol; across the hot Hay Plain; topped up in Gumly Gumly; rolled on up the cooler Hume home to Newcastle with a SS1600K finish docket a few minutes after midnight.

I should try doing this more than just once a year

Graham, I'm so sorry for your misfortune. My plan was to leave at 7am, and get to Wilcannia before it got too hot, which I achieved. I rode back with Jeffery until Broken Hill, which seemed to remind me of the ride with him a couple of years back. Needed to be back Thursday for a 2pm funeral, so I didn't waste any time, arriving back at noon.

Great to catch up with some high credentialed riders.
