G'day fellow IBA'ers. Coming down under for a trip

Hey Derrick, great to hear. Yeah looking forward to hear about all the great spots along the way. The trip is not an IBA Mile buster, but do plan to get a cert or two along the way of course. And if nothing unplanned goes amiss, I should have some extra fat days in the schedule.
Hi Derrick, time to catch up a bit. According to my "plan", I should be in Melbourne on Oct 10th, 11th, planning to visit maybe 1 or 2 days. Def. can catch up for a bite. Maybe you can recommend decent accommodations close to that time?

Hi Sjef!

Looking forward to seeing you here in Australia! Your starting/finishing point of Brisbane gives you some great roads to ride as you head south through NSW and into the Snowies/Victoria.
Rebeca and I would love to catch up again/relive old IBR glory days with you.

See you in October!
Hey Martin, If things go according to plan I should be coming through Canberra (your home base I believe) on Oct 1, 2nd ish.

Great stuff, Sjef! I can't see the route at the moment but will try again on the laptop. From your description, it will cover an excellent range of landscapes and riding to get a flavour of the country! The Snowy mountains (Kosciuszko) in October could be anything from spectacular perfect weather to still snowing and miserable- but most likely to be perfect. While we call them "mountains " they are more like rolling hills if we are at all comparative, but the riding is great and the scenery and bush unlike anything you've seen before.
I'm just out of Canberra not far from the the Snowies so will keep an eye on your planning and see if I can be in the area at the same time. Also feel free to contact if you need a hand.
Do you know yet what type of bike you will be on? If you don't mind a little bit of good dirt roads there are heaps of extra options for route planning.
Hi Ed, if the ride goes according to plan, I should be coming through Canberra Oct. 1, 2nd ish.

We look forward to seeing you Sjef, no problem if your dates need to flex, and don't forget you are welcome to stay with us.

Also, if you don't mind some company on your ride down to Victoria I can tag along, as I have some things to do in Melbourne and country Vic.

Hi Martin, that sounds awesome, and yeah would love to have your company on the ride. Was planning to go to Kiandra (Olaf's recommendation) on the way down after leaving Canberra.

Hello my good friends down under. Only 2 days before travel and my world changed. Yesterday was a perfect day to get a nice paramotor flight in, and on the launch at full speed I tripped, and under full speed drove myself in to ground. Results, the paramotor totalled but more importantly my left arm has multiple fractures including the socket broken off. Tomorrow I will be going in for surgery. So clearly and sadly, my trip downunder is now cancelled for the second time. I'm very sorry about this obviously and was definitely looking forward to meet up with old and new friends. I will keep my plan alive and on the very next opportunity will make it happen.

What's that old story about man wasn't supposed to fly [unless in a very big bird". Bugger, that definitely threw a spanner in your works. Next time, two weeks out from flying down under wrap yourself in cotton wool and stay grounded till final liftoff. It gives me longer to finalize our food menu. Just joking, stay safe and heal well. Cheers.

HaHa thanks Graham, yeah a little interruption in the timeline, but I'll make it happen soon enough. Got more steel to bring along now.
