Greetings, RM:
I asked the same question early-on, and was told to await the invitation. When I showed up in Jacksonville for an annual awards weekend/dinner - having ridden another SS1k enroute (missed the last required Buc-EE's by that much...), I was astounded by the utter detail (from memory) the Reviewer/Judge had of the entire route I'd just ridden! Which gas stations were on which corner in which town, and how far each was from the interstate/highway each was sited, and which lodging options were better than others, and which BBQ places had just gone under, but which ice cream shops along the way had better milk shakes. Not to take anything in memory for granted, he plugged everything into a map program to verify my claimed miles were above-threshold for the level of the ride I was seeking, and the list goes on. Perhaps I missed the name badge RAND MCNALLY...lol. So few of these human gems, no wonder there's a bit of a backlog and wait to get an application approved - but surely worth that wait.
Bottom Line: Thanks so much to each of these application Reviewers and Judges, and for Mike's deliberate selection and training process!
Just my $.02,
Mark
