Hyder Alaska question

all, I am in the preliminary phases of planning a SS4000 from Phoenix to Hyder, AK and back. For those that have been to Hyder, is there an optimal time to plan this ride? Of course I was not planning this ride for the winter time, but was curious which month would be good time to do this ride. Also, is there a must-see route that people recommend? Thanks for any suggestions.

I was there the first week of September, and it was cool but pleasant. Night riding was chilly. I wouldn't advise going much later than that.
I have been to Smithers BC in late April, and it snowed on me... So my advice is to go sometime between May and Sept. Be aware of the abundant wildlife everywhere up there.

I've a friend in the Tuscon area reporting 119 degree days down there now, so I can't imagine Phoenix is faring much better. Escape as soon as you can and don't go back until after Labor Day. Really though, I have nothing useful to add other than have fun and stay safe.
