Parkes is famous globally for its iconic CSIRO Parkes Radio Telescope—known simply as “The Dish”—which played a crucial role in the Apollo 11 moon landing.
This vibrant regional centre is also known for its annual Elvis Festival and offers a welcoming stop for long-distance riders.
We are excited to return to Parkes as it marks the 10th Anniversary of the Inaugural IBA Australia Muster which was first held here in 2016!
Parkes Leagues Club – Google Maps will open in new tab
Parkes offers a range of accommodation options, including motels, cabins, and caravan parks. Early booking is highly recommended as availability may be limited closer to the event date.

Coachman Hotel Motel is an older style hotel motel with a variety of rooms and is 250 metres away from the Leagues Club
Henry Parkes Motor Inn is a similar distance from the Leagues Club and has had a “glow up” since the 2016 Muster
Commercial Hotel Parkes (across the road from the Leagues Club) has 12 newly renovated rooms $150- night. Ph 02 6862 1526
Cheaper “Pub Style Room” options include “The Parkes Hotel” and thw “Broadway Hotel”
And there’s a number of fancier motels within easy walking distance (e.g. Astro Dish/All Settlers Moto Inn/The Old Parkes Convent motels).
Not to forget – theres also at least 2 Caravan Parks in town

- Only IBA members are eligible to participate in the Ride In for the Parkes NSW Muster 2026. NB. As in previous years we are again encouraging IBA Riders to mentor a non – IBA member to participate in the Parkes Muster. Please advise your intenion to mentor another rider on registration.
- IBA members that are no longer able to ride and those partners of IBA member are welcome to attend the function at the conclusion of the Ride In. Please see registration details below.
- All attendees are to register through Ride Master . No other registration process will be accepted. Each individual person is to register please. Registration fees – Rider $AU25 and Pillion $AU15, Non-Riders $AU5.
- Riders are to submit their Ride Application by email or snail mail after the Parkes NSW Muster 2026 . (see below, RIDE APPLICATION)
- Any IBA ride may be attempted. The ride is to finish on the 20th or 21st March 2026 at Parkes NSW. A ‘one off’ IBA Certificate and Patch will be available to IBA members that are successful with the verification process. IBA Australia will post out the Ride Patch on confirmation of the certificate being issued by IBA.
- Late Registrations may be accepted, however a processing fee may be required. Early cancellation, i.e., before Registration closing date, will incur a fee (PayPal costs).
- No refund will be given after the registration closing date, for non-attendance for any reason or unsuccessful completion of the ride.
- Send Ride Application via your preferred submission process.
- If the Ride Application is incomplete i.e., routing is incomplete, or if payment is not included, or if other stuff gets messed up, the rider may be required to resubmit their application.
- The subject line of your email must have Subject: Xxxxxxx IBA Australia Parkes NSW Muster. The Xxxxxxx is to be substituted with your surname.
- Ensure you include the ride that you have completed e.g., SaddleSore 1600K, BunBurner GOLD, BunBurner 2500K etc
