Subject to some of the route roads drying out, I'll be at Cobar (Copper City Motel) Friday and Saturday nights. Riding west early Saturday morning and probably have lunch at Wilcannia after the Memorial gathering.
Unfortunately I’m coming in from Silverton and returning after the service to Peterborough.

Thanks LTP for suggesting/arranging the morning tea. We need to have a RTE at Boorowa MIXR at that cake shop mate!

This flooding across the place is starting to throw up some issues.
I suspect TonyK has no roads at all at his place below the Copeton Dam.
Our options of meeting points is getting slim anyway from Armidale via Tamworth or Narrabri, Gunnedah, Inverell or Warialda.
Many many bridges washed away. Some not that old. Even a bolt across to the Fossickers Way via Bundarra and the Gulf Creek Rd is out.
Im looking into a route up north then west coming in from the north down to Bourke and Cobar but that's got its own issues too.

Adding to that a few roads closed today in and around Dubbo. At this stage not sure how things will go west of Cobar either.

I have to start being creative, maybe a waterbutt is on the cards if this rain continues

I've just cancelled my Cobar accommodation and have to pull the pin on this run altogether. Most of my planned route is under water at the moment and unlikely to be in a fit state for riding the general area anytime soon. Had enough of flooded roads and washaways on my two northern excursions for Nambucca and Uralla the previous weekend. Catch you next time. Mick.

Mick it certainly challenging times with all the floods around in such a large area to get a route planned anywhere, and it can change quickly.

LTP and I pulled the pin on the GTR to Port Macdonnell last Saturday for the same reason, when I went to bed Friday night our "flood free route" was fine, Saturday 4am no it ain't.

See you at the next one.

Fatman,
And we all thought the “Dynamic Duo” were specialists on flooded roads given the ease that you tackled them on your ride to meet up with Dan Simmonds east of Cobar in Feb 2019 and on your Lap of the Paddock near Carnarvon back in June 2019.

It is good to see you exercising caution ⚠️ and riding safely.

LTP and I are heading out Friday morning and staying at Silverton Pub Friday night. Then Saturday morning riding to the IBA memorial site at Netallie Hills for the memorial service at 10am remembering our IBA members who have "ridden on", followed by morning tea (light refreshments provided) back at the Netallie Hills rest area.

LTP just phoned the Silverton Pub enquiring if the 39 floodway dips between Broken Hill and Silverton are passable on a road bike, they advised that later in the week should be fine as long as they don't receive much rain.

See you out there.

Hello there,

Unfortunately I have had a mechanical issue with the bike and despite getting it to the mechanic ASAP, it is unlikely to be back on the road for several weeks. Thus I am a DNS for this weekend’s ride.

Sincere apologies. Let me know if you are out of pocket with the patch, I am happy to reimburse any associated costs.

Regards
Taff

PS Second time this year this has happened to me the week before a bike ride. Annoyed and gutted.

I was out from Uralla to Walcha last week on a job and yes its just despicable conditions. Bloody dangerous.

Sorry to hear Taffey that you can't make it, I hope the repair goes well.
