Illinois All-County Route

#1
Looking for an efficient route through all the county seats in Illinois. Hoping to not have to reinvent the wheel. Anybody have a suggestion.

Illinois, with 102 counties, seems to be a bit more challenging than the ~1500 miles it takes to get to the 15 county seats in Arizona. ;) I cheated and used a route optimizer I found on-line that gave me a route. No, I've yet to accomplish it - but, it's on a list of 'someday' rides.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_counties_in_Illinois

If the goal is to simply hit all 102 locations, get a picture and move on to the next, over a certain period of time ( a week? a weekend? a month?) the zig-zag routing that's used for many of the recent 48 state rides would seem to be efficient.

A longer period of time (a month?) might have me take smaller stabs, basically by quadrant. HItting 20 or 25 in a weekend could be routed fairly easily - and possibly accomplished in a weekend.

...and, it's this very type of puzzle that gets people into rally riding!

EDIT: Ran across this, seconds after navigating away...

Find a list of the addresses, put them into this & see what happens!

I have stated finding all the specific addresses. GWRRA IL District is using this as a "Motorist Awareness Program" ride. We have set it up with the added requirement of visiting the county courthouses. We also will be trying to hand out a flyer to a local resident promoting "Motorcycle Awareness" Most will probably just visit the counties in their area but I am going to lay out a route to do all the counties if I can find adequate time. Have to have lunch in Moonshine when I go through Clark County.

So, this is a much smaller version of:

http://www.ironbutt.com/themerides/ucb/

The list of courthouses? This one?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_county_courthouses_in_Illinois

Unfortunately in lat/long, not address. Converting from DMS to DD.DDDD would then have that Mapquest route planner functioning, if you import as a CSV file (info in the 'import' tab)

Thirty or so stops in a weekend, taking photos of courthouses - sounds like fun!

Again, I'm wanderning away before I finish...

There'a also a GPX export function - there ya go!!

Just FYI, several years ago Bob Higdon visited every county courthouse in the US. If memory serves, that was over 3,300 courthouse (did you know that some counties have more than one courthouse?) and took him, I think, about 3 years.
