I haven't actually done that particular ride, but try something like this. It's 1022 miles and 15.5 hours.

Of course, it depends on where in Maine you want to start. Starting and ending close to Portland or Augusta will require some changes. Maybe take I-91 north through Vermont and 93 down through New Hampshire to add the mileage. Also, make sure you get a DBR in Rhode Island. It's a small state and easy to miss. IIRC you need a DBR from each state up there.

The NE 1000 doesn't require specific stops, just that your route stays within New England.

The Ride Around New England is a new ride and is appx 1800 miles with specific requirements. Roy did a nice job with this one!

When I last rode the New England Saddlesore it was part of Robs Minuteman Rally and we used Milford, CT - Swanton, VT (syrup!!) - Bangor, ME - Wyoming, RI - Milford, CT as the corners with a DBR stop in Lincoln, NH between VT and ME to pad miles IIRC. That base route is 1040 miles.

I rode the New England 1000 last year. 1027 odo miles for my trip. It’s a nice ride and I think you’ll enjoy it. Strangely, I currently can’t find it on “The BIG List” of rides (bumped by the recent inclusion of the ”Ride Around New England” 48/38 hour practical circumnavigation of New England’s geographic borders?), but if memory serves, you’ll need documentation of a visit to, and staying within, all 6 New England states (CT, MA, ME, NH, RI, VT). It may just be a typo or my poor search skills, but it may be best to confirm the ride certificate and its requirements prior to any attempts.

As stated earlier, where you start in ME can make a galaxy of difference (Madawaska vs. Ogunquit), and timing can be crucial for travel, especially rush hours around Boston (Rt. 95/128 is a daily reenactment of the film Death Race) or on Rt. 95 between New Haven and NYC (get caught once and you’ll know exactly why animals gnaw off a leg to escape a trap).

As to a google map of my route, I’ll include one below. Sorry for its length and hope it works--still learning here. It may be of dubious use to you as I’m not sure of your starting point, and it will almost certainly run opposite to your travels as I started just outside of NYC, went through New England, and then returned to the NYC area. My stops were: Darien Rt. 95 North Bound Service Plaza (start); Greenfield, MA; Swanton, VT; Lincoln, NH (then the Kancamagus Hwy to Conway-scenic, but when in season a high risk of falling into hiker/trailer/Winnebago/Ranger Patrol hell); Pittsfield, ME; Cumberland ME 95 Service Plaza (had to replace batteries in my GPS tracker); Newton, MA; Wyoming, RI; and Darien Rt. 95 South Bound Service Plaza (end). I suppose you could run portions of it backwards, with the southern turn around point being the South Bound Darien Service Plaza, with a subsequent quick turnaround at Exit 9 to return to 95 North. Though, however you may decide to run it, I wish you good luck and a safe and enjoyable ride!
