Dear IBA Riders

I am based in London UK.

I am new to this type of riding, I accidntly came across to your face book page & quite like the idea of this. I have gone through the website, & saw all the forms & GPX files that are posted for rides etc. But no where I came across about the administration of the ride. Such as there is a ride happeniong for popy apeel RBLR, in June for which I have already enrolled myself, & the videos so far I have seen is that, there is a starting point & back to same point to end to complete the route. I have choosen the northern route.

But besides there are other types of rides such as SaddleSore rides, BunBurner rides, GB End to End rides, GB Four Corners rides, The Full Monty, European End to End, Four seasons solstice/equinox.

So on this website link , new riders ride. How do I apply for the ride, there is all the documentation how to record & all relevant information, but how do I apply to administrative team that I want to do that ride.

Can any one please guide, what is the process of application for the ride of choice. In this case I want to apply for this ride, that I want to do. Also there is no information, what is the fee for the ride & how do I pay the fee for the ride to start.

This is the ride, I want to start with - SaddleSore rides - https://www.ironbutt.co.uk/saddlesore.php

Your help is appreciated.

Everything about this post screams, "BOT!!!" but just in case it is not a bot...

Go ride. Document as instructed. Submit documents. No pre-application for standard certificate rides.

Quite a paranoid reply about bots, you are a person on the edge, just assuming. But thanks for the reply

No bots about it (sorry...). You're among friends here! At least, those who suffer from the same fascinations and/or ailments.
While Stephen's guidance above is technically correct, it's the fun of the ride - or even some sense of mission - that seems to guide each where/when consideration. All of the Rides to Eat (RTEs) are great examples of just such.
The Chief of Staff (read: my wife) and I enjoyed a British Isles cruise last year, and happened upon the NorthCoast 500. A couple of laps on that circuit in Scotland would surely qualify for a SS-1600 for you. The BIG LIST is chock full of great ideas for you to plug into your schedule.
As for pre-registration, the Southern California Motorcycle Assoc (SC-MA) was perhaps the most prolific perpetuator of pre-registration for rides, but much of that seemed to have been scrapped before I undertook my own Four-Corners Tour. In the IBA, ditto, as Stephen noted. It's the documentation of your ride in the days following your expedition that matters, and your submission for your certificate, etc. So long as you've demonstrated you're above the mileage threshold for your ride, and below the clock limit, you're good; what you'll note as a common theme is the patience element (for your bling and certificate) once your submission is turned in.
Welcome! Looking forward to hearing about your great rides ahead!

Thank you Mark, for your reply, My confusion was, when I came across this link randomly RBLR where there was a £25 fee to join, & when I explorred other options, where all it says, steps how to start & track & submit ( fuel recepts, your route tracking etc. ) but no mention of fee. hence I asked the question. Thanks for clarification. May I suggest, if that one line is added that no fee is required to complete the task.

Best regards

@sujkn or anyone else wondering about this. There is a difference between organized events, (like RBLR), often requiring a fee, and the vast bulk of Iron Butt Association rides that are simply solo challenges undertaken by an individual. The solo rides can be done at your leisure, any time that works for you and you follow the documentation process and decide when to submit them to the IBA UK, Benelux or the IBA USA depending on your region. Fees are only paid if you submit a ride and it is certified.
