I just caught up with Peter outside of Adelaide and rode with him through the fog and rain to Tailem Bend. Had a brief chat before i had too head back to work. He seems in good spirits and realizes that not much time left. Left him heading on the B1 into what looks like more wet weather.

B1. And then to Heywood where the next "detour" beckons. At least the GOR is not the A1. That is a huge plus!!

I have him at just before Midnight to reach Officer on the east side of Melbourne.

He might be a tad late hooking up with the Westgate Interceptors...
After a scare where we saw Ox stop at the Werribee Caltex we had OX arrive at the United Westgate Northside just after 1.30am

In good spirits considering the rain/fog/roadworks/trucks/fuelcell issues. Werribee was a bio break, and while I'm now home, Philmor and Michael are escorting him out along the M1.

He's expecting to have to deal with Sydney Friday arvo traffic.

We had no rain till he was 1/2 an hour out, so its definitely following him, but cleared now...

Fantastic effort from the Melbourne crew. Top marks to all involved along this big lap OX is on.

Good to hear OX is still in and on top of the game, wouldn't expect anything less by-the-by. He'll need to be on-song coz looking at Google and there's a shit load of roadworks heading homeward.

Bring it on home mate!

Just spoke to Hackle they made it safely to Cann River and Ox has just had a snooze to re invigorate himself. Should be moving again shortly with John Negus showing him the good fishing towns up the coast.

I calculate 13.5 hrs left with approx 750km left.

While most Aussies have been snoozing a small group of Victorians were escorting a highly decorated package across the state.

Derrick and Fatman were snapped admiring some nice machinery while awaiting arrival of The Package. Derrick’s bike is out of sight presumably still under surveillance by a local security agent.

OX (aka The Package) arrives full of life at the United Servo on the West Gate Fwy a few kms from the centre of Melbourne.

Chatting when he should be refuelling – I thought I was the only one that did that!

Now that is the real OX

Lynne The Pillion was unable to attend in person however she gave Fatman a list of instructions to pass on to OX :)

Fatman looks as if HE had ridden 90% of the way around Australia

Everyone is in high spirits

OX packed light for his 9 day circuit

We departed the West Gate United at about 1:45 am with Derrick leading the way. Derrick peeled off after about 20 kms leaving Fatman upfront. Fatman steered us skilfully through the maze of road works and speed changes on the Monash M1 until he reached his home exit at Berwick.

By that time we had left the rain behind us and with only light traffic, OX & I made good time on the 160 km run down to Traralgon with OX lights filling my mirrors for most of the way.

It was a beautiful Gippsland night for riding with no wildlife to cause us concern. On the eastern side of Traralgon wet met Hackle and he quickly took over the lead. I continued on for another 25 kms until Rosedale where I waved farewell to OX as he and Hackle continued on to Sale, Bairnsdale & beyond.

OX appeared to be in good condition considering he was into the last day of a huge 9 day ride. :)

Thanks Philmor for the pics.

And just for the record, I am not trying to look like Ox with my helmet liner cap on, I put in on when we weren't sure if he was going to stop at the United or not. That's my story and I'm sticking to it..;)
