Just confirming: IBA Ride to finish at Renmark before lunch on the Saturday? It's not really clear on the main page 4. Any IBA ride may be attempted. The ride is to finish on the 8th April 2017 at Renmark SA.

Pretty clear/straight forward Peter. Big trick this last muster was sorting a start time that would see a finish widow in the early hours of the target day so you can get a good docket and a good sleep to be fresh for the new Muster day.
From memory I think nearly everyone successfully finished by late morning or mid-day at Parkes. The ride is to finish on the 8th April 2017 at Renmark SA. I read that as finishing at some hour in any of the 24 hours of the 8th. To do so after mid afternoon would limit the fellowship hours from lunch on into the evening though. My own start time will be between 03:00 and 04:00 on the 7th to give me a buffer of a few hours in the start of the target day. Hope that's some help.

And Renmark's ACST and probably be daylight slavings time too????

Peter, I think it is clear, please explain what you do not understand and we will attempt to clarify for you. There is no reference to finishing before lunch on the web page.

If it is being run the same as this years, then the paper work needs to be submitted in an envelope to the adjudicators between noon and 14:00.

8. Upon arriving at the event, riders are to place their fuel receipts, witness forms and a legible Ride Log in an envelope (clearly marked with their name and IBA Number on the outside of the envelope) and give it to one of the staff members immediately.

There hasn't been a time of when the staff members will be accepting the envelopes but I would hazard a guess that they wouldn't be available at 3:00am. So my plan was to finish the ride maybe half an hour prior to the check in. Plenty of time to check my paperwork and place in envelope.

But perhaps I am miss-reading rule 8 and arriving at the event and finishing the ride are two separate times. That would allow me to finish the ride anytime from 00:01 to 12:00 on the 8th.

I am not trying to be hard. Knowing when I can finish the ride allows me to plan minimizing the roads with more wildlife.

Peter, i don't think you are being hard at all, it is a good query.
I am out at the moment and will answer later today. (Just too hard using one finger on the phone)

Should riders wish to receive their certificates at the function then they will need to hand in the required documentation prior to that starting (around 1600Hrs) (keeping in mind we still need time to finalise riders documentation as part of the verification). The time mentioned above was to allow an opportunity for us to finalise the rides so that the certificates could be presented. If riders turn up later, we would still complete the verification and present certificates to the rider, albeit without the crowd. If a rider arrives after the function finishes and no one is around, then as long as they have finished their ride before midnight, with appropriate documentation then we will do the verification later and post out their certificates. This was not a "check In" window, where riders were required to meet a specific time window for their ride, as riders were able to finish their ride anytime on the 2nd July.

8. Upon arriving at the event, riders are to place their fuel receipts, witness forms and a legible Ride Log in an envelope (clearly marked with their name and IBA Number on the outside of the envelope) and give it to one of the staff members immediately.
The event, like this year will more than likely start at the same time, midday. Should you arrive at Renmark at 0001Hrs on the 8th (your final receipt is the ride finish time), you then have time for sleep, fixing up your paperwork, breakfast etc., then when you pop over to the event function room you can then register and find one of the volunteers that will go through your ride documentation with you so as to finalise the verification.
An opportunity here to raise awareness to part of this rule 8., It is important that the Ride Log is legible, if we cannot read it, we will ask you to pop over to one of the tables and fix it up for us. There will be plenty of willing riders able to assist others if they are having problems.

Should you or any other rider wish to drop off your completed documentation at this time I will be happy to accept it, just make sure you knock on the right door!! :D

Correct. 4. Any IBA ride may be attempted. The ride is to finish on the 8th April 2017 at Renmark SA.

I agree, hence you can finish anytime on the 8th. It would be great to have everyone at the function though.

Hi All..I was planning on arriving on the 8th between 12 noon and 2pm. Question..are we socialising on the next day also (sunday) or is everyone heading off on that day..I'm going to plan my return trip starting Monday and use the Sunday as a layover..but if we are only socialising Saturday I'll just have to get there earlier..jn

Great to see others are going to spend a little time sightseeing on the Sunday.

We are arranging a group photo to be taken Sunday morning in front of a rather large vessel (around 08:30-09:00) giving those wanting to depart reasonable early an opportunity to also be included In the photo.

Just a reminder; a check in period is given allowing validation of rides to occur unrushed and in a timely manner before presentations. As long as the ride is completed on the day (and as per IBA rules) it will be validated. It should be noted that a certificate may not be issued on the night if insuffient time is allowed to validate the ride or the ride plan has altered from the initial submission. In relation to late submissions on the day or route changes, certificates will be mailed once certification has been approved the following week so ensure a mailing address is enclosed with your receipts.

Looks like it's going to be another fantastic ride.

Room booked hopefully everything else will fall into place. Now just to work out what ride to do. 1832km from Brisbane maybe able to do a couple of IBA rides into one on this one. Just might miss the photo on the Sunday again
