This is some very sad news.:(
I checked the local French papers and they report that he had no chance when the animal hit him at 2:43 a.m south of Abbeville on the A28.
It seems that the area between Abbeville and Rouen is infested with wild boars and accidents happen frequently.
To all riders going south from Calais towards Le Mans on the A28: be careful!

I got home Wednesday evening as I’d gone down to Porto and then back up through the Picos. I missed most of the bad weather some you had to go through, only getting rain 20 mins from Calais..

Great RTE with good people, nice to meet a few new ones too.

However, the news of losing one of our own in what sounds a very unfortunate and unfair way leaves me feeling sad.

Speedy recovery to both Dave and Steve too...

See you all soon..
