Ride verification query

Hi.

Am riding my first independent ride next week (End to End GOLD).

Am right in saying I get my first receipt with a photo of it next to my odometer, get as many receipts as I can during the ride and end with another photo next to the odometer.

Owing to early morning start, my first receipt will be Wick Tesco and last receipt hopefully will be Penzance Tesco with miles/time added on during verification to the actual start/end points.

I have read the required info, honest, just wanting to confirm before I screw up

Hi

ALL receipts should be photographed next to the ODO when you get them. Make sure they are backed up to the cloud in some form in case something happens to your phone.

There is a Ticket Machine for parking at both ends (or was when was last there) if they're working.

There's no such thing as too much data in these types of adventures.

If no receipts are available at JoG or LE I would photo the ODO and submit the picture.
The ride is still JoG to LE, not Tesco Wick to Tesco, Penzance .
Spotwalla track is always useful.

If you arrive outside normal trading hours and are unable to obtain start or end receipts at Land's End, a receipt from Penzance 24 hour petrol station will be accepted, and will add 10 miles and 15 minutes to your ride. Likewise, if unable to obtain a start or end receipt at John O'Groats a receipt from Wick 24 hour petrol station will be acceptable, and will add 16 miles and 20 minutes to your ride.

If nobody has mentioned it to you, some Blutac at the top and bottom of the speedo/odo housing might help to hold that receipt in place during your picture taking efforts....

This works well unless you are at the start or finish and there is a howling gale, whereupon your receipt will unstick and go into low earth orbit...

Thanks for the tip @Firstpeke

Have also got a zip lock bag for receipts too.

All photos will be on phone and stored remotely should phone stop working/self destruct.

Another vote for spotwalla as it also has the option to upload your ODO pics as you go, a useful backup.
