An exciting story, and I know in my heart that vehicles powered by electricity are the way of the future, but silent, virtually vibration free motorcycling still fills me with dread, and pity for future generations who will never have the pleasure of riding fire breathing monsters like we do.

I'll miss the noise a little bit but not the vibration having grown up on British bikes some that could shake the fillings out of your back teeth not to mention shaking them selves too pieces.
But 2.5 K between charges that's the internal combustion engine and lithium iron battery industries obsolete overnight, just got too wait and see what bullshit excuse the various governments will find to tax them.

Tax is an important problem to overcome.
No way is any government going to let billions of fuel revenue disappear. They will find a way of transferring the loss onto electric vehicles somehow. I don't believe we will get cheap the motoring some people are predicting.
