In case you're looking for another Great Lakes certificate, here's a new one to try:

Last summer, I finally nailed down some time off to complete a ride that I'd been planning for a couple of years. After doing the Lower Great Lakes SS1000 and the Great Lakes Gold, I wanted to hit the other three SS1000's and while perusing the "historic rides" list I noticed that Thomas Southwood was the only one listed as completing all three together in 2015. Upon inquiring, Mr. Kneebone confirmed and sent me a copy of that certificate as an option.

I'm currently feeling lonely on the "new list" and would love to see some other folks give it a try. It is a beautiful ride and a fun puzzle. I made it a little extra hard on myself by sticking close to shores while in Michigan, but the scenery was worthwhile to me.

Congratulations...! I have been looking at this ride for a few years now, even went so far as to reserving a room in the Soo (but the Canadian one) but had to cancel so I have yet to pull the trigger...

I will get to it one day soon (I hope...!).

I just got back from the Yellowknife RTE and rode the Canadian side of Lake Superior up and back...amazingly lovely, nice curves, hardly any traffic (early morning and nearing sunset). It was a blast.

Nice ride, I just did the Lake Superior Loop with two friends from W.Virginia the end of July and early August. No we did not do an Iron Butt run, advancing age, declining health have given me new perspectives. We stuck to the shoreline as much as possible from down in Marine City,( yes I’m considered a troll), we took our time and stopped often just enjoying the road passing beneath us. Lake Superior was the only Great Lake I had not circumvented. Lake Huron, lakes Erie/Ontario and Lake Michigan were all Saddle-sores along with a mitten run and yet a dash down to New Orleans from Lansing. I must say that the Lake Superior loop was incredible.
 
I feel compelled to add that one of the greatest experiences we had was stopping at “ The Daily Grind” in Shuniah, Ontario shortly after an overnight in Thunder Bay. We, the three of us give it six thumbs up for our breakfast experience! An immaculate roadside eatery with the best coffee I’ve found in 47 States and 5 Canadian Provinces. Served in clear glass stemmed goblets gave us the impression we were royalty,(tag at we are definitely NOT),! The mountain boys had your typical fare while experimented with strawberry crepes, WOW were they good. We spent the next night over in Wawa and upon leaving town we, collectively agreed that would like to go back for yet another breakfast! But with a lot more miles to cover we pointed the front wheels in the direction of Sault Ste Marie and the border crossing stateside.
If you’re ever running across the upper shore of Lake Superior DO stop here for a most wonderful experience, keep it safe out there!
