Nice photos Ian

I nearly didn't make it having fitted a new stator, replaced the rear tyre and re-wired the indicators the replacement engine bolt failed to materialise. After a last minute episode of improvise, adapt and overcome I made do with a Triumph Bonneville engine bolt that had been in the spare parts box since... I'm now riding a Trionda that doesn't leak oil!

The rain came and everywhere thawed out on cue. The only sign of an icy road was at Glenshee having opted on a Cairngorms National Park route to Peterhead but it was all very passable. It was cold, it rained, it was the Scottish Highlands in December, proper kit and a zip tie kept us warm and dry. For me it totalled

639 miles Home-Peterhead on an 18 hour avoid motorways route.
303 miles Peterhead-Neist Point-Kyle
642 miles (including 20 miles Twatnav data entry error) Kyle-Commando Memorial-Home

Big thanks to Bob for the shout out and organising, Bob, Ian and Ian for their company and banter on a really awesome shortest ride on the shortest day.

Well done to the hardy souls who completed this ride......

A real window of opportunity on the weather side clearly made all the difference!
