Shane, riders will be on their own ride schedules/refuel locations once we all start from Port Melbourne at 2am although some may choose to ride together, so the range you require is the range that you don't run out of fuel I guess.
You should be right, my last top end 50CC last year encountered a fuel station closing an hour early, lights on and no one home as they say. I could see movement but no one was going to open up. I planned for the unexpected and just made the next stop.
I can’t get enough days off to commit to the 50CC, but I did wrangle the Friday, so I’m likely to meet at the start point and tag along for a while. Planning a SS1600 (maybe even a 2000; that would be more fitting) to coincide with the 20th anniversary.

Something simple like this for me maybe. Depart 7pm Thursday to rendezvous at the start point. Maybe even do another 350k the next day for a BB2500. https://goo.gl/maps/zgqXWgKdYvqg5VdR9
Just waiting with Anticipation on getting my IBA number until then I'm unclean. Hahahah
Talking with Howard and looking to do a ride in the US while I'm over there for two months for work.
At least I might be able to buy a Pin and bring back.

A handy link to ride reports for IBA Aus Coast to Coast rides is here: May be a handy reference for information /ideas if you are contemplating riding the IBA Australia - 20th anniversary 50CC. I will add this to post # 1 also.
