During the LDX we were running Waze and Google Maps piped into the headsets. We run both because they provide varying levels of accuracy for different data sets. I find that Google Maps typically has a better idea of actual travel times based on all the snooped real-time speed data it collects. On the other hand, Waze does a much better job of alerting to hazards or police activity ahead (and does not refer to every LEO as a "Speed Trap"). It seems to have a larger user participation rate. Between the two and our 478, we can usually find our way to where we want to go.
Leaving Milwaukee and heading south, we got a ways down the road when I heard the following exchange in my earbuds:
Waze: "Hazard reported ahead."
(three seconds pass)
Google Maps: "Welcome to Illinois."
