This of course is all subject to the Coronavirus improving

On 31st August 1970, the BSA/Triumph (Rob North) Triples announced their arrival on the Worlds "racing" stage when Paul Smart set at series of records at the August Bank Holiday Crystal Palace meeting riding Daytona No.8. The circuit has long since disappeared but there are many features from the original track still recognisable. This event is to celebrate that day, 50 years ago, when the triples showed the world that Britain was still a major force in motorcycle racing.

In order to "celebrate" this 50th anniversary, we are hosting a RTE here at Pottal Pool House on Sunday 30th August 2020.

All of the "normal" features that you've come to enjoy (or endure) from the regular winter RTE's that we host here at PPH, will be incorporated - free food and "free entertainment" (with the caveat of course, that the charity bucket will be passed around)

On the actual anniversary of the first victory (Bank Holiday Monday 31st August 2020), there will be a "get together" at the site of the old racetrack at Crystal Palace Park in south London for anyone interested.

As I say, this is all subject to the lockdown being lifted enough for the event to be able to take place.

For any of you on FaceBook, there'll be regular updates on the "50-50 Legacy" page as well as on this forum
