We announced the Senior Butt Rally at the Jacksonville event. The rally is going to be a two bike, team event, with the requirement that one bike be piloted by an Iron Butt Rally Finisher who is at least 60 years old. The response was very good and it looks like our goal of getting the former Finishers off the couch is going to be achieved. Howard Entman has created a very brief webpage on the Ironbutt site which will be the official location of all the information on the event. In addition, I created a page for it on the Defective Gene Pool site with the same info and the link to the sign up at the Ride Master sight.

We are only going to have 25 teams in the event. We would love to have you ride the SBR. It’s going to be an awesome event. If you want to reserve a spot (no money required at this point) go to either sight then click on the link to the Ride Master sight and enter the event in your name. (Of course you can go straight to Ride Master too.) Only one name is required for your team. Please don’t enter for you and your teammate as that will take up a spot when it shouldn’t.

Even if you don’t “officially” qualify as the lead rider (IBR Finisher 60+ years old) you can still reserve a spot and we’ll help pair you with someone if you don’t find your own teammate.

We’ll be posting more “elaborate” promotional spots in the future with more details. Just wanted to get this advance notice out so you can sign up and hold your spot.

Let’s ride!

A few spots remain in this inaugural SBR. If you don't have a team mate but want to ride, le us know and we can probably match you up with a compatible rider.

This is going to be exciting--don't miss out!

A public shout out to Howard, Cliff, and all others involved in making this inaugural Senior Butt Rally an absolute blast. The glitches were minor, the challenges were many, and the extremely high points for the rest bonuses leveled the field in a way that added to the puzzle of route planning. And while I usually ride as a team with Terry, partnering with someone new brought another, and in most cases for all the teams, unique positive element to the mix.

Thanks for a fun week, and hopefully after the organizers have a chance to reflect this will become a regular event.
