I'm pleased to say we have set the date for the next edition of the IBA UK Jamboree: Saturday 6th April 2024. The venue will be in the midlands.
We're still looking at the format of the day; if anyone has feedback - good or bad - from 2023, please do let us know, either here or via email ([email protected]). Our aim is for these days to be useful/helpful to everyone, whether you're looking at completing your first certificate ride or heading towards the upper echelons of Mile Eater status; whether you've never done a rally or have multiple finishes across Europe. The best way of achieving that is for you to tell us what you want to talk about, what you'd like to hear explained. Past sessions have included a look at how rides are verified (to help plan an easily-verified route); using Bubbler and Spotwalla to track rides; ATGATT; and rally planning.
For this year we think another session on rally planning would be good. Long-distance riding dos and don'ts is likely to feature; a hands-on How to fix a puncture workshop; maybe Confessions of a rallybastard! I'd like to have an open discussion about what the IBA could/should do better, including how to spread the word. If there's something you think we should be talking about, just tell us - without feedback, we're just guessing, and we'd much rather talk about things people actually want to hear about.
