I rode up to Fort William on Friday, having finished work in Southend at 3:30pm. Saturday I rode to Dunvegan for breakfast, at 10:00ish, where I was joined by Shantygod.
Four made it to Neist Point. Shantygod, stig of the dump, Bobbyc and I were there for 12 noon. Unfortunately stig of the dump informed us the fishing had been unproductive and the bakery had been closed, so not even 5 loaves and 2 fishes for lunch.....
Bob and I set off for Lands End. Traffic was heavy around Loch Lomond. We eventually reached the border at 6pm. Unfortunately the M6 was closed J10-J8 (M5). This resulted in queuing traffic to exit and a diversion through Birmingham, only to find the top of the M5 was also closed. Bob and I got separated on the diversion. Reached Gordano about midnight. Waited but unable to contact Bob. With a 7hour return journey to Lands End and then 4 hours up to Lowestoft an 11:30am arrival was possible. However that would have meant 30 hours in the saddle without rest. I called it a day.
