Looking to get a laptop for mapping while I am on the road. Needs to have internet (wifi)access. Suggestions appreciated.

Joe,

First question for you to answer, "Do I prefer Apple or PCs?" Then we can help narrow it down a bit.

Any mainstream, current generation, lap top is good. I opt for SSD hard drive but that's most lap tops these days. SSD drives are theoretically more vibration resistant. I did buy a smaller lap top to make packing easier. 14" in this case. I also have a slim padded slip cover for additional protection when packed on the bike.

I work for a major laptop manufacturer, so I won't be a shill here. But I second the recommendation for a solid state (SSD) hard drive. That should better tolerate the vibrations of motorcycle travel. I also recommend a laptop that uses a USB-C charger. It's pretty common nowadays from most manufacturers. It means the charger is basically universal, and if it dies on the road you can buy a new one at any Staples/Officemax/etc. If it still uses a proprietary charger that's an extra risk.
