good to hear your out doing checkpoints I got out this weekend too am gradually going to build up to were I was last year, riding in bigger circles now.

Finally got started myself this weekend.

Ducking out of work early on a Friday allowed a visit to Aldershot for location 14:

Followed by the Maori Wood Carving in Yeovil (location 46):

and Cricklepit Bridge in Exeter (location 05) a little while after:

An overnight stop in Teignmouth with good company, good food, good beer and good darts swiftly followed :)

Saturday morning started brilliantly, with the side-pod of my trusty (i.e. old, battered and minging) Arai breaking. Judicious application of the Universal Toolkit allowed me to continue, however:

Triumph Plymouth in Plympton (location 56) followed shortly there-after, with the clouds looking increasingly ominous:

By the time I got to Operation Chariot (82), the rain was definitely with me, and the winds were well on their way too. Not the most pleasant ride I've ever had, if I'm honest:
82%20-%20Operation%20Chariot%20Falmouth_zpsnlm7jqkp.jpg

Then it was a longish stint to Land's End (86) and somewhat contrary to the weather forecast on the Friday afternoon, was proper pissing it down. The cross-winds were horrendous to boot:

Still, Land's End is marginally less gloomy at 12pm of a weekend than it is at 3am on a Brit Butt Rally, so hey-ho :)

I eventually got to ride in a bit of dry weather on my way to The Grove Inn, Kings Nyptom (58), and even had a bit of fun on some of it:

By the time I hit Bristol for location 24, the sun had even put in an appearance:

A further bit of pleasant riding interspersed with some serious highway tailbacks took me to Compton, for locations 30 (Yew Tree Stables):

and St. Mary's Church (13):

By the time I got to Windsor (location 53) the rain was back an enthusiasm somewhat waned:

Which was thus followed by more M25 traffic chaos frivolity and some more torrential rain for the final 50 or so miles home. Still, all in all it was a decent clutch of bonuses for my first long-ish ride of the year.
