OK - (re)reading the rules again.... seeking clarification....
"The Ride - Rules" state "To make the planning and the ride more challenging, a further requirement must be completed, namely to spell ANZAC, by visiting locations in the right order and obtaining proof as per IBA rules."

To me, this would imply/mean "Get your DBR and take a photo with your odometer reading." (i.e. BAU)

But under "For riders of both countries:" is states "Take a photograph of the chosen location and obtain a DBR from a business close to this location and include with your application at the completion of your ride. "

So, does that mean there is an expectation/requirement of a 2nd photo at each (A-N-Z-A-C) location? One being '...of the chosen location...' and the other being '...a DBR (as per the IBA rules)."?

There is a difference between '... OF the chosen location..' and '...AT the chosen location...'.

@ACTCapo - yes, I'm probably overthinking it.
@tj189 - 6 P's in action.

FYI - At this stage it looks like it is a 'go' for this ride. New spot lights now installed on the new bike (didn't that take some work?). I would like to have had more time to give the bike a good shake down after doing this work before the ride. Looks like it will be a group of 2 (myself and the gent who was unable to do the last ride due to illness). To add a twist, one of the previous group is also doing a SS1600K (departing earlier in the morning prior to the dawn service) however not doing the ANZAC bit - with the aim that we are chasing him time-wise to catch up with him before nightfall.
You have done well in planning this fun and fantastic ride, so have fun. One thing I did was to buy a newspaper on the day of the ride (24th of April) and took a picture of the Zeerust school sign with the front page stuck on the sign. It all helps, but most of al, have a fun and enjoyable ride.

Yep, over-thinking it. ;) I got a photo of the Dawn Service (Redcliffe, QLD) then a DBR from a nearby servo as a Start Docket, then a docket at or near each "Letter" (I needed fuel at Agnes Water, Nanango and near Applethorpe). I got an iced coffee at the Zillmere IGA and a finish docket at Carseldine Caltex.
All the dockets were photographed next to the ODO, with the ODO also written on the docket. To cap it off, I pinged the SPOT at each "Letter".

@hagar - had planned on doing the same with the newspaper (or two..) Yes, Zeerust School sign was the plan and I'll be running the SPOT. My custom message on the spot is "IBA Receipted Stop" which helps in the ride post-processing. Hoping to pick up photos are the war memorials for my Start point, and the other three stops.

As always, thanks for the feedback and comments.

@Biggles - thanks for the confirmation. Rules can be a funny thing. I'd rather think about this, ask the questions first so that I know 'what' is required 'by the rules' before the ride. The ride can throw enough other curveballs on the day without me adding to the list for not 'understanding' the rules (as written).

After grabbing by 'C' location, I'll still have some kms to do to get home for my final DBR.

As always, thanks for the feedback and comments.

Best wishes to you and your mate for the Anzac day ride CJ. I always attend a local service with some family and friends. Either an RSL breakfast afterward or back home for bacon and eggs depending on the crowds. I should do this ride one day, but with a son serving in the Navy, the special nature of the day means more when I have time with the family. I hope you have good roads and fair weather for the effort!

Still on track for ride attempt tomorrow if I can get the Kids Bearings and brakes swapped out on their Gooseneck today first.
so when you say you configure SPOT to ping "IBA Receipted Stop" (pre defined message are free , yes good) but what number do you configure it to go to, your Wife, Boss, yourself maybe?
Also I can't get my track( trips) to appear in my Spotwalla, they are talking, I've done a Sync from Garmin app, the Earthmate, nothing trere are trips there from a year ago. humm
This is the part that is doing my head in.
Feeling KISS solution Biggles described is going to be the best way but I would like to get my SPOT and Spotwalla working.
Thank you

Also is 1631K's too close?

1. Good luck (a) getting everything done, and (b) getting on the ride tomorrow.
2. Message got to wife and kids. But more importantly, goes into the map as a point.
3. I think trips and tracks are different (but don't ask me the difference as I'm still new to SpotWalla). I've had the same issue. A couple of things to check (in Trip Manager) for that particular Trip - 1. Check the dates and times are aligned with your data. 2. In Device Manager - make sure that you have activated the data feed (i.e. Active is ticked) done via

If you've got data in your TRIPS section, then you can create a Track from it (just did it). Again, check the dates align with your dataset.

Hope this helps. (this could well be a case of the blind leading the blind....)

While I'm on this
This is my first ride hoping to get my IBA number finally.
Do I have to do anything different or more for this ride?

Hopey
Are you looking to do the ANZAC Day ride version, or (just) a SS1600K? If the ANZAC Day themed ride, have a look at THE RULES as there are a couple of additional requirements.

Good luck with it. Let us know how you go.

So is 1658Ks for the IBA SS1000 (miles)
View attachment 10287
and do the ANZAC ride

Hopey
Its one or the other not both,
1. Do a standard SS1600 (1610kms min) and enjoy the day riding.
2. Do the specific ANZAC Day ride which has rules as previously stated and must also be an SS1600 (1610kms min)

Hope this clarifies it for you. And yes allow some leeway on your distance so 1658kms is a good number.

Bank some fat away in the distance Hopey.
Better to have say 1660km or a bit more than not enough buffer.
Enjoy the days riding.
I'm off to a dawn service.

Ok
So SS1600 is Australia Specific ride.
I'll do the ANZAC ride as it will be my first just to get my IBA number.
I think everything is ready to go.
I'll let you know how I go Wednesday.
If I get one of the stops wrong at least I can apply for the SS1600?
Thanks Heaps
