IBA Australia Inaugural Muster

Have planned a simple but meaningful route for this one.

B/Hill -> Port Augusta via that twisty bit and the Plaque.
Port Augusta -> Nyngan with maybe a rest stop at home base.
Nyngan -> Bogan Gate via Tottenham.
Bogan Gate -> Parkes

Fairly straight forward but with having to document both Liz and myself, nothings straight forward... :D

Unfortunately I will have to miss this ride as I have just been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer and will undergo surgery on 1st of June. I hope to be back on my Beemer in a couple of months and would like to participate in the next Aussie IBA event.
cheers

G'day Harry. That's no good mate. Good luck with treatment, see you back on the bike soon.

looks like a plan to me, going to be great catching up with you both:)

All registered !
Intended route (so far) Brisbane - Toowoomba - Charleville then South = 1680Km. Was thinking about departing after dark to avoid the Sun strike. Should get in around mid arvo ready for beer - kip - beer (in that order).
Hmmm decided to take the warmer route down the coast and avoid furry creatures...

Stu, not sure how much of the coast road you will be using but the roadworks from around Coffs through to around Kempsy I think it is, are a bit of a nightmare at the moment.

Thanks TJ,
Appreciate the info.
I am revisiting the route this week in detail so will factor that in then send away the documents once done.

Cheers

FWIW according to the NSW High Upgrade site it appears that the Road Works between Coffs and Kempsey will be completed by 4th June - no doubt they will move onto somewhere else ....

I'm opting for inland and if it rains it will be warm...ish.

Only tight spot I see in my plan is ice across Black Mountain and Ben Lomand at 04:00. After that its all westering tap uncorked and hunkered down till Bourke. Then a left and blat to Narrandera TL and Parkes. I'm still keen to get the 5 hour earlier start over this rout than has been in my last ride. Simply want to see this road in daylight.
Starting earlier to cheat the ice hour's will stuff the Parkes end. Starting latter might help with some dawn light but the ice will be skittish and the day hours down the track reduced. So a test run befor the 18th is in order and if needs be a secondary route to trim this end and add at the other will be logged.

I'll have my 9 year old nephew 'Nevertire Nic' (IBA#64166!!!) on the back and riding with TigerBill. The recent scattered snow has highlighted the insanity of us all riding to Parkes in July.

We'll either zig zag down the Dividing Range or loop out the back of Bourke and down the Kidman Way.
