Some earnest conversations underway at the 2025 IBA Muster.

Thanks to Derrick and the IBA Australia team for organizing another excellent muster. Good to see everyone!

It was a good turnout despite the tropical cyclone. Chinchilla seemed to miss most if not all of the adverse weather. Thanks again to Derrick for leading the formalities, and also Paul Gigg for his Isle of Man presentation. That was quite something to see.

I rode home Sunday, departing 4:30am from Chinchilla with Ed. (Tabledrain waved us off, as he was about to head east into the big wet). Other than some light showers as far as Goondiwindi, we avoided the extreme weather, and had plenty of sunshine and humidity for the run down the Newell Highway. Said good bye to Ed on the Tuggeranong Parkway and I rolled into the garage just after 7:00pm with a shade under 1,200kms for the day.

Separate ride report to follow for the inbound SS1600

Beaut to see everyone again, but I think the highlight of my whole weekend was that the burger that Derrick had pre-ordered for me from the meat/bbq caravan on friday night being hand delivered from across the street literally as I was pulling my helmet off. Now that is service!! I haven't really been drinking for the last few weeks but that burger with a super icey cold beer was spot on!
Thanks to all involved in herding all the cats to make the muster happen - a good balance of organised stuff and general catching up.

Great to ride south with you too, Martin. I wouldn't have credited that we were holding the OA that we were! I was loving coming back into town with the view over the hills just on sunset, just stunning. Also helped by coming home after 3weeks away.

Wow what a great Muster.
This is probably the first one that's been subject to a cyclone effecting the activities of so many. In reality most of us just had a ride in the rain and some strong winds.
Well done those who made Chinchilla. Well done those who had to stay home and deal with the weather too.

Thank you Derrick for getting all this event together. Well done.

It was great to chat with Ed and catch up on news of Thommo, RB, Russell and Glen. Been too long.

Giggles put a great presentation together in detail and informative. Thanks Paul.

I took flight south Sunday at shortly after 7am down to Condamine and The Gums in variable rain. Lots of standing water in some places a bit sketchy in others.
Hit the cross road at The Gums and dry as but stiff wind down to Moonie. In and out of gentle rain to Goondiwindi for a coffee. Out to Yetman, a bit of a mixed bag then rain all the way to home. Wife tipped out 152mm for Saturday and Sunday alone here.

Thanks for the great weekend.

And thank you TD for the room mate. And the book too.

EDIT: I've not ever seen how easy that STICH gear is to live with. Just a little observation I made over the weekend.

Kyrstof, very pleased to see you have made it home safely. Sad you couldn't make it but there will be other rides ahead.

Hope to see you at next years Muster, if not before.
Thanks, @Martin Little

Just because we got hacked multiple times this year (2025, yaaay .. not), and I lost my FB account :| I decided to start a new little blog for friends and fam here https://tylnexttime.wordpress.com/, with the latest long-distance trip partially described, with more to come soon. When I have a few minutes, i will try to find the right place for unfinished rides in the forum here and paste what I wrote. Cheers

Thanks All who attended, either physically or in spirit, and to Giggles for the IOM presentation.

It says something about a group where it actually takes a Cyclone making landfall for people to back out, and understandably, while others not in the path can come from 1000's of kms away and only get an occsasional shower, if that. And how some even talk themselves into coming home from Sth West WA to Canberra via Chinchilla as a good idea! :)

I will get around to putting up a proper ride report for myself soon, but in the meantime, I present to you all a couple of photo's from Chinchilla itself

The queue for 'que was quite the sight for a small town Batesys Smoke and Grill FB can pull them in! Whil Ed has spoken of his hand delivered meal, earlier in the night I'd heard a roadtrain down gearing and turned to see Batesy himself hand deliver some BBQ to the driver as he slowed to walking pace before the trruckie started grabbing gears again!

Where (and When!) for 2026 will be up relatively soon - just waiting for OZStoc to announce so we don't clash. Can confirm March.
