While most Aussies have been snoozing a small group of Victorians were escorting a highly decorated package across the state.
Derrick and Fatman were snapped admiring some nice machinery while awaiting arrival of The Package. Derrick’s bike is out of sight presumably still under surveillance by a local security agent.
OX (aka The Package) arrives full of life at the United Servo on the West Gate Fwy a few kms from the centre of Melbourne.
Chatting when he should be refuelling – I thought I was the only one that did that!
Now that is the real OX
Lynne The Pillion was unable to attend in person however she gave Fatman a list of instructions to pass on to OX
Fatman looks as if
HE had ridden 90% of the way around Australia
Everyone is in high spirits
OX packed light for his 9 day circuit
We departed the West Gate United at about 1:45 am with Derrick leading the way. Derrick peeled off after about 20 kms leaving Fatman upfront. Fatman steered us skilfully through the maze of road works and speed changes on the Monash M1 until he reached his home exit at Berwick.
By that time we had left the rain behind us and with only light traffic, OX & I made good time on the 160 km run down to Traralgon with OX lights filling my mirrors for most of the way.
It was a beautiful Gippsland night for riding with no wildlife to cause us concern. On the eastern side of Traralgon wet met Hackle and he quickly took over the lead. I continued on for another 25 kms until Rosedale where I waved farewell to OX as he and Hackle continued on to Sale, Bairnsdale & beyond.
OX appeared to be in good condition considering he was into the last day of a huge 9 day ride.
